Mouse mommy was attending Pigeon Beautiful Me Workshop with mummies at Isetan The Japan Store, Kuala Lumpur last weekend. It is a nice moms day out together with Pigeon Malaysia.

Being a mom is a tough yet sweet job. Many things need to learn, explore and experience together with our kids and family. When it comes to real life mom, theoretical and practical are always two different things.

Pigeon Malaysia was conducted a wonderful workshop for parents that having skin concerns during pregnancy such as striae and pigmentation, how to gently take care newborn baby skin, nappy rash, eczema and so on.

The workshop was kick-start with Dr Leong, paediatrician to share with us the anatomy, physiology and external factors that might irritate to our skin.

Mouse mommy was learning some new knowledge during Dr Leong’s sharing session on “Skincare for Pregnant Moms & Newborn Babies”. Mouse mommy has applied nappy cream whenever there is redness or nappy rashes happen to my baby MH bum area especially during newborn time.

Mouse mommy does encounter before a situation whereby nappy cream does not working after I had apply it on baby MH’s bum for more than 1 week. No wonder! It could be fungal infection instead of normal nappy rash.

Dr Leong mention that parents will be able to spotted some red rash spots around the nappy region. If the nappy rash does not improve / heal for more than 5 days after frequently apply the nappy rash cream/ skin barrier cream, then recommended to consult doctor. It might be fungal infection and required anti-fungal cream application.

Baby’s face, nappy and neck region is very sensitive and susceptible area during the infantile period. Sweat, harsh cleanser, cow milk, pee, saliva and pooh might contribute to irritate the baby’s skin, causing dehydration and skin itchiness.

Baby will feels uncomfortable, crying, skin itchiness and try hard to scratch their skin. This will worsen the baby’s skin condition.

It is important to use the Correct and Gentle Cleanser cum Lotion to take cares our baby’s skin such as the Pigeon Newborn Pure Skincare Series that contain Natulayer.
