UNVEILING AEON FASHION PREVIEW ( AFP ) | ANIME STREETWEAR, THE FUTURE OF DENIM AND CROSS GENERATIONAL FESTIVEWEAR

 

AEON's Tri-annual Fashion Preview Returns, Featuring StevenSunny in Bold Colours and Collaborating with TARUMT.



The much-anticipated AEON Fashion Preview (AFP) is back, showcasing fashion as fresh and vibrant trends that young people need to express themselves. 




This Nov23 edition of AFP marks a collaboration with the strong and opinionated student community of Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology (TARUMT). AEON’s youth radar reframing three themes as conversation starters: anime streetwear, denimwear and festive wear.

 


1. AEON SELECT Takes Anime to The Street

Anime streetwear is rapidly emerging as a dominant trend, captivating fashion enthusiasts with its unique blend of urban aesthetics and modern motifs. At AEON, the whole of 2024’s calendar is mapped meticulously to release multiple anime surprise capsules from Naruto, Spy X Family, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer.

 

Whether it's the sleek minimalism of cyberpunk anime or the bold, colourful palettes of classic manga, the AEON SELECT collections will aim for a diverse and exciting range of vibes.

 


In celebrating the innovation of next-gen designers - a unique bridge between anime and fashion for stylish self-expression, TARUMT fashion students from the Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI) took part in restyling the Naruto collection, turning it into cosplay couture, graphic streetwear, and anime-inspired accessories. The students are:

2. SCAR Uncodes The Denim Dynamics

Denimwear, once synonymous with rugged workwear, has undergone a transformative journey over the years, evolving into a versatile and timeless fashion staple that seamlessly transcends generations. The fabric's resilience and comfort, originally designed for durability in labor-intensive settings, have found new expressions in contemporary fashion. Parkson | 1st Green Campaign in Line with Sustainability Goals


Parkson is proud to announce its first-ever Green Campaign, a sustainability initiative aimed at promoting eco-friendly practices at our Fashion, Beauty and Home & Living departments in our stores. 


The campaign will take place at Parkson Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s Skylight Atrium, winner of the Malaysia Book of Records for the Highest Skylight Atrium in a Department Store from 28th September to 31st October 2023.


This Think Green, Act Green Campaign is a unique and innovative approach to educate shoppers about the importance of sustainable practices – to REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE.




Parkson has partnered with vendors and partners to create a green awareness campaign that showcases the use of recycled structures and materials.


Participating vendors - including renowned brands such as Akemi, Alain Delon, Anakku, Avanti, Cheetah, Conquest, Cotton Feel, Eminent, Forest, Hario, Hot Focus, Infancie, Kinohimitsu, Kose, Kraftee, La Gourmet, Maglifestyle, Pigeon, Robotime, Sachs, Santa Barbara, Sembonia, Tiger, Varage, Voir and Wacoal - will offer their products using green materials, further emphasizing their commitment to sustainability.



We will be taking a big leap to discontinue all our single-use Parkson plastic bags as part of our Think Green, Act Green effort and customers are strongly encouraged to bring their own reusable shopping bags in joining our effort to help mother nature. We will provide small size or big size paper bags made from biodegradable paper materials at a minimal charge of RM0.50 ; RM0.70 respectively.



As part of the campaign, Parkson encourages shoppers to contribute to the green cause by donating their unused clothes, clothing accessories, paper items such as books and magazines, children's toys and batteries. These donations can be made at the Recycle Box located in-store, in support of the green campaign. 



Parkson Pavilion Bukit Jalil has partnered with CRC (Community Recycle for Charity) for this meaningful initiative. We will also be taking the extra steps to by setting up a Reusable Bag Community Station where shoppers can drop off their spare reusable bags for others to pick up to use to help kick-start the community’s eco-journey.



In addition, Parkson has partnered with City University to showcase 12 exclusive fashion pieces created by students using recycled materials. These unique designs will be displayed at Parkson Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s Skylight Atrium from 28th September to 31st October 2023. The students will also have the opportunity to meet local designer sisters Yen and Shirley from MagLifestyle, who will share their insights and experiences as popular fashion brands in Malaysia.




To further engage shoppers, Parkson will host sustainability goal sharing sessions with vendors on specific dates. 



Kinohimitsu will share their sustainability goals on 30th September at 2pm, followed by Santa Barbara on 7 th Oct at 2pm and La Gourmet at 4pm, and Akemi on 29th October at 2pm.



Shoppers who use their AmBank Visa Credit Card will also be rewarded during the campaign. With a minimum spend of RM200, they will receive a RM20 Parkson Gift Vouchers, available while stocks last.



Additionally, Parkson Pavilion Bukit Jalil offers a complimentary gift for shoppers who spend RM50 storewide from our partners GloveOn; an eco-hydrating sample pack will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and while stocks last. Spritzer will also be participating by giving a free plant when you recycle 2 empty plastic bottles with them. For the little ones, Kraftee is organising several workshops every weekend in October which will be the perfect family outing.



Parkson Card Members can also take advantage of exclusive promotions during the Green Campaign. AEON | FIRST KIDS REPUBLIC AMBASSADOR TO EMPOWER CHILDREN TO CREATE THE FUTURE


AEON, Malaysia's leading retailer, is excited to announce its first Kids Republic Ambassador, setting the stage for “Kids Who Create the Future”. The finale search for the inaugural Kids Republic brand ambassador is launched alongside the debut of the exclusive Very Important Parents(VIP) Club.



The finale is held at IOI City Mall Putrajaya today, showcased 24 exceptional finalists divided into two categories: Category A, featuring children aged 5 to 8, and Category B, consisting of children aged 9 to 12.



During a captivating segment, each finalist took center stage, where they encountered a life- sized “Kids Who Create the Future” Box brimming with possibilities. Within this box were twelve numbered compartments, each hiding a toy and a question that will determine their eligibility as the Kids Republic ambassador.



Low Ngai Yuen, the Chief Merchandise and Marketing Officer as one of the judges overseeing the selection process, expressed her enthusiasm, "We are delighted to lead this children’s movement that culminates into an ambassador search for Kids Republic. We had 1,706 interest submissions in less than one month of call for entries. More and more parents appreciate the need to celebrate every growth milestone while turning them into moments of encouragements and exposures of possibilities."

The panel of judges for the AEON Kids Republic Ambassador Search consists of industry professionals, influencers, and prominent figures who are deeply committed to nurturing the potential of children. The judges are Prichelle Lim, Partnership Manager for Singapore and Manager of theasianparent, Gillian Hung (Mama G), Fashion Icon and International Consultant; Designer and Founder of MMAG, and Advisor of Malaysian Official Designers Association (MODA) and Ruzaidi Zaman, Store Manager of AEON Putrajaya.
