World Skin Health Day | guardian Malaysia celebrates everything skin with shoppers!

Do you know that the skin plays a critical and multi-faceted role in an individual’s health and wellbeing?

As the largest organ of the human body, the skin is an important ‘shield’ for the individual. It acts as a protective barrier besides regulating the body’s temperature. It also synthesises vitamin D and acts as a sensorial collection point for neuro receptors.

In conjunction with this month’s World Skin Health Day theme of ‘No Health Without Skin Health’, guardian Malaysiathe No. 1 Health & Beauty Retailer in the country* – is holding a month-long, nationwide campaign called Skin So Super from the 2nd to the 29th of July

This campaign, which celebrates not only great-looking skin but also the functionality, health and wellbeing of it, is happening at all stores nationwide before culminating at the weekend-long 1st Skin So Super Atrium Experience event at Sunway Pyramid on the 26th and 27th of this month

Anna Ng, Marketing Director of guardian Malaysia shared that, “This Skin So Super campaign as well as the 1st Skin So Super Atrium Experience event is our reimagination of how our shoppers should care for their skin and overall wellbeing. When our skin is healthy, wellbeing follows and vice versa, when we are well within, our skin glows without.”

Besides the major categories of skincare, which are amongst the most common of skin concerns, namely Derma/Sensitive, Brightening & Suncare, Youth Boosting (Anti-aging) and Acne, there is also the support of health and wellbeing brands.

Anna added, “We believe that guardian Malaysia, as the No. 1 Health & Beauty Retailer*, is your trusted and preferred go-to-destination for everything skincare.”

Shoppers can walk in to any guardian Malaysia store or attend the 1st Skin So Super Atrium Experience event at Sunway Pyramid later this month to speak to a guardian pharmacist or brand’s beauty advisor about any skin concerns that he or she may have. For those with minimal or no concerns, these experts – the pharmacists and beauty advisors – can assist to advise the shoppers of ways to further boost the skin’s inner and outer health and wellbeing.

We have the experts and the expertise to advise you on all-about-skin,” Anna said.

For consumers and shoppers who’d prefer to learn more and shop online, guardian Malaysia also has an interactive Skin So Super campaign page on its website https://guardian.com.my/promotions/skin-so-super.html?page=1 with its extensive selection of product range, interactive guide to select the right skincare for the individual as well as a host of ‘educational’ materials of skin health. SkinLab guide to healthier skin is also available as do online reels of tips and expert knowledge sharing by dermatologists

Just like the saying ‘beauty should not only be skin deep’, the core tenet of this Skin So Super campaign is the belief that skin should not only look great, but must function well, too. When your skin healthy, all the other benefits will follow.

1st Skin So Super Atrium Experience

There will be brand booths, workshops/masterclasses, live demos, wellness sharing as well as opportunities for personalised skin consultations by experts present over that weekend. In addition, there will also be special discounts, purchase-with-purchase (PWP) promotions, gift-with-purchase (GWP) and exclusive Myguardian Rewards’ members’ workshops.

Visitors will get to visit the Beauty Zone (Skin Lab, Acne Zone, Healthy Aging, Sun Smart Zones) as well as the Wellbeing Zone (Inner Wellness Zone, Power Up Zone) to experience its interactive-themed activities. With 100 brands to be present then, shoppers and visitors to this 1st Skin So Super Atrium Experience event will get the chance to learn, grow and purchase the best combination of skincare products out there!

Kuala Lumpur Turns Tokyo | 1,500 Runners Bring Japanese Culture to Life in Record-Breaking Journey To Jishin Fun Run

Dataran DBKL was transformed into a vibrant sea of color and movement this morning as 1,500 enthusiastic participants took part in the Journey to Jishin Fun Run – a unique event celebrating Japanese culture, wellness, and community spirit.

Held in conjunction with KL Car Free Morning, the run offered scenic 5KM and 7KM routes through the capital’s iconic streets.

Organised by Fine Today, the event aimed to go beyond fitness by encouraging self-expression and cultural appreciation.

According to Frederick Ng, General Manager of Fine Today, the initiative is part of the company’s mission to empower women and promote self-confidence through celebration.

“At Fine Today, we believe self-confidence starts with self-celebration,” said Ng. “Our brands are committed to helping women feel proud of who they are – inside and out – and today’s run is a joyful reflection of that belief.”

A standout moment of the morning was an ambitious attempt to enter the Malaysia Book of Records for the “Most Held Koi Socks While Running”, inspired by the Japanese koinobori (carp streamers) symbolizing resilience and strength.

Each participant received a colorful koi windsocks (Koinobori) , turning the streets into a flowing river of energy and tradition.

The run was officially flagged off by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha binti Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, YBhg. Dato’ Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, and Mr. Frederick Ng, General Manager of Fine Today.

Following the run, participants enjoyed a lively Japanese cultural showcase featuring interactive booths, traditional games, and a Best Dressed competition with cosplay and traditional attire.

Attendees also received curated goodie bags filled with self-care products from Fine Today’s signature brands: TSUBAKISENKAMA CHÉRIE, and FINO.

As koi flags fluttered and laughter echoed through the city streets, the Journey to Jishin served as a powerful reminder that confidence, culture, and community can come together to create something truly inspiring — one colorful step at a time.
