All the daddies, mommies and kids are looking forward for their fun filled school holiday vacations and outings. Mouse mommy would like to share this fun-filled and educational activities that allows kids and parents have a great bonding moments together-gather. Let's have fun !!!

Let's hunt for fun-filled educational activities in Kidzania KL - KidZ vs Food !
KidZania Kuala Lumpur, in partnership with Panasonic Cooking and in collaboration with celebrity chefs, cookbook authors and an international food artist, sets out to inspire kids to cook in ‘KidZ vs Food’. Running from 26 November 2016 to 1 January 2017, the programme is an initiative to cultivate cooking interest among children by introducing elements and processes that are both practical and fun. 

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change. We hope that through KidZ vs Food, we will be able to alter how kids look at food and cooking. We want them to discover the simple joys of cooking and build a sense of confidence and self-sufficiency that comes from successfully completing various cooking tasks and challenges,” explains Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur. Mouse mommy totally agree with Mayor Shahrul and looking forward to cook with my little mouse MR.

Shahrul Nizar adds, “We hope that this programme will also lend value to parents. We want them to see that by involving children in the kitchen, you’re not just making food, you are teaching science in action; helping to lay down basic math, reading and time-telling skills; encouraging healthy food choices; building confidence and creativity; enhancing communication and deepening connections with your child.” Sounds Kool!! Abang Brian did mention that cooking was a life science, we as a parent can share the science facts and skills with the children while cooking bonding time.

Lending their expertise to the programme and the professional workshops are celebrity chefs Dato' Fazley Yaakob and Brian Chen (more fondly known as Abang Brian), international food artist Samantha Lee, award-winning cookbook author Mohana Gill, and the inspiring seven-year-old Chef Leah of ‘Chef Leah with a Big Heart’.

KidZ vs Food is divided into four activity segments from 26 November 2016 - 01 January 2017, 

Pop-up Kitchen allows kids to take charge as they handle end-to-end prep of fast and easy recipes that they can then re-enact at home; 

Food Science explores the more technical aspects of cooking, demonstrating to kids how chemical reactions and conditions can create different food tastes and textures;

Food Art teaches kids about the basics of food presentation and how to create beautiful desserts.

Professional Workshops led by some of Malaysia’s favourite celebrity chefs, cookbook authors and food artists.

Kool ! Going to join the food science and food art session! My little mouse MR was a small eater and tend to choosy in food selection. A bit headache for mouse mommy to figure out ways to let little mouse consume more and more food.


We are going to make our designation Brick Jelly. Sounds great as in little mouse MR love to play Lego bricks and it turn into food now - Brick Jelly. Food art also play role to make the dish more attractive to be eaten, children love to self handmade and enjoy the food. I think little mouse will be enjoying the cookie art session too to decorate his own unique MR cookie. And please make one love cookie for mouse mommy too :)


Hmmm.... Mouse mommy was exciting to join this KidZ vs Food in Kidzania KL with little mouse MR to create our own special recipe and precious bonding moments together :)

The KidZ vs Food programme will also play host to the KidZania Zuper Kitchen Challenge, a children’s cooking contest where the top five finalists will get the opportunity to receive prizes comprising of Panasonic cooking appliances, culinary courses at the Young Chef’s Academy, autographed cookbooks, as well as KidZania Kuala Lumpur tickets and merchandise worth over RM5,000!

Make Your Own Bento Set - Bento Kids Could DO !

Ayam Brand™, famed for its wide range of healthy and convenient, preservative-free canned products introduced its ‘Bento Kids Could Do’ initiative nationwide, while providing 243,000 healthy meals for charity this year via its annual ‘Ayam Brand Charity Campaign’ corporate social responsibility program. The Ayam Brand™ Charity Campaign is now in its ninth year, and has benefitted more than 16,100 people from 362 charity organizations!  

Fifty charity homes, 47 from across Malaysia and 3 from Brunei Darussalam received Ayam Brand™tuna, mackerel, kernel corn, processed peas, pineapple chunks and baked beans sufficient for daily meals for all residents for two months. More than 1,300 children, disabled, single mothers and old folks have benefited from this sustained aid.

The campaign is in-line with the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s efforts to fight obesity by educating and encouraging children to make informed food choices.

This year’s  ‘Bento Kids Could Do’ campaign introduced Japanese cuisine and the concept of Bento meals, a single-portion home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine that traditionally holds rice, fish, meat with pickled or cooked vegetables with fruit or other sweet items. It is usually beautifully packed in a box-shaped container and is well balanced nutritionally. Japanese people spend time and energy on a carefully prepared bento box for their spouse, child, or themselves.


The children learnt how to prepare for Ayam Brand™ dishes in a fun and interactive session that was specially developed to suit people of different ages and abilities; namely Mixed Fruit Salad, Baked Bean, Heart Shaped Sardine Sandwich and Tuna Onigiri under the guidance of celebrity Chef Loke from T-Garden Cooking School. People said teach the children life skill rather than feed them. Mouse mommy was happily join this meaningful Ayam Brand CSR campaign that to learn how to handmade bento set and onigiri with the children as a life cooking skill that useful in daily life!
