As Ramadan and Aidilfitri draw near, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) proudly unveils its latest seasonal delight, Hikayat Ayam Zamrud, a dish crafted to capture the spirit of togetherness and tradition. 

Available for a limited time, this special creation is set to enhance the joy of breaking fast and festive gatherings with its bold flavours and vibrant presentation.

Raya celebrations have come a long way. Folklore tells of a time when the festive spirit felt subdued, with the occasion draped in simple traditions and muted colours. Though eagerly anticipated, the festivities hadn’t yet embraced the vibrancy they truly deserved. 

Then, one fateful day, a discovery was made — a humble bag of green chillies that shimmered like emeralds. Its vibrant hue, mirrored by the spicy green sambal it would create, sparked something extraordinary.

This year, TCRS invites you to experience that magical transformation with Hikayat Ayam Zamrud — a dish that captures the boldness, vibrancy, and flavour of a Raya that truly comes to life. Inspired by tradition, this dish pairs tender, juicy chicken with bold sambal hijau — a perfect blend of spicy green chillies, fragrant herbs, and zesty lime. 

Every bite is a tale of transformation, bursting with flavour and colour, made to be shared in the true spirit of Malaysian cuisine.

Sharing the significance behind this exclusive dish, Ms Jane Wong of The Chicken Rice Shop Restaurants Sdn Bhd said, “Hikayat Ayam Zamrud represents our commitment to creating meaningful culinary experiences that bring families together. 

“This dish doesn't just nourish the body - it celebrates our rich cultural heritage and the profound connections we forge over shared meals. During this sacred time of Ramadan and Aidilfitri, we wanted to offer something truly special that honours tradition while creating new memories around the dining table.” 

For TCRS, apart from serving a delicious meal, Ramadan is about upholding the true essence of generosity, compassion, and togetherness. In embracing the true spirit of Ramadan, TCRS will also be extending its festive goodwill beyond its restaurant doors by organising a special food donation drive. 

With a mission to spread warmth and joy, TCRS delivered hearty, nourishing Hikayat Ayam Zamrud meals to three orphanages across Klang Valley: Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Shifa, Rumah Penyayang Nur Iman, and Rumah Titian Kaseh.

Through this initiative, TCRS aims to ensure that the children and caretakers of these homes could enjoy a wholesome and comforting meal, allowing them to partake in the festive spirit of Ramadan. 

By giving back during this meaningful time, TCRS hopes to inspire others to embrace the values of compassion and unity, reinforcing the belief that no one should be left behind, especially during a season of togetherness.
