Recognizing the urgent need to support flood-stricken communities across the nation, guardian Malaysia has taken a compassionate step forward by donating over RM70,000 worth of essential personal and health care items to the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC).

This significant contribution aims to provide much-needed relief and comfort to families and individuals affected by the devastating floods.

Priscilla Wu, Managing Director of guardian Malaysia, shared: “As a company proudly rooted in Malaysia for 57 years, we are deeply connected with the communities we serve. guardian has long been the trusted partner for Malaysians’ health and wellbeing, and our core focus—‘MYWellbeingMatters’—symbolizes our commitment to every Malaysian’s welfare.

In this critical time of need caused by the devastating floods, it is our responsibility to do our part.

Today, we are donating vital personal care items, including hand wash, hand sanitizers, liquid soap, toothbrushes, baby wipes, wet wipes, pain relief and fever tablets, mosquito repellent, plasters, and hooded towels for children. These items are essential to maintaining hygiene, comfort, and health amidst the crisis."

She added: “We are immensely grateful for the tireless efforts of the Malaysian Red Crescent in providing effective humanitarian aid during these floods. Partnering with them ensures that these critical supplies reach the people and areas that need them the most.”

Tn Haji Hakim Hamzah, Secretary General, expressed gratitude, saying, “The support from guardian Malaysia exemplifies how partnerships can amplify relief efforts during disasters. These personal care products will go a long way in helping those affected by the floods maintain dignity and health during this challenging time.”

This partnership reflects guardian Malaysia’s unwavering dedication to supporting communities in their times of need, proving that together, meaningful change is possible.

Thank you guardian Malaysia for being so thoughtful and with #guardiancares heart for community always! Many loves and appreciate.

ONG-LY AYAM OREN | SAVOUR THE SWEET AND SPICY SENSATION OF THE CHICKEN RICE SHOP

As Malaysians prepare to welcome the Chinese New Year with reunion dinners and festive gatherings, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) is adding a vibrant new dish to the celebration.

The homegrown halal food chain has crafted its own interpretation of orange chicken, bringing together the nostalgic flavours of Chinese New Year with a distinctive Malaysian flair.

Available nationwide until 23 February 2025, this limited-time offering transforms the beloved Chinese classic meal into a masterful blend of sweet citrus and subtle heat.

Each piece of chicken is glazed with a sauce that combines oranges and warming ginger, then crowned with toasted sesame seeds for a delightful crunch - creating a dish that honours tradition whilst embracing innovation.

Diners will be treated to a variety of festive sets to suit every dining occasion.

Starting at just RM21.90, the à la menu lets you savour the flavourful chicken on its own.

For those looking for set meals, the Ong-ly Me Set is ideal for solo diners seeking a personal treat, while the Ong You & Me Set caters to pairs wanting to share the joy of prosperity.

Those celebrating with family or friends can opt for the Ong Like Us Set, designed to serve up to four people with its generous portions, making it perfect for a festive gathering.

“Oranges have always been a symbol of prosperity and good fortune during Chinese New Year,” said Wong Kah Yong, Chief Executive Officer of TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd.

“We wanted to transform this auspicious fruit into a contemporary dish that captures both tradition and innovation. Our Ayam Oren represents the perfect balance - the sweetness of prosperity combined with a spicy kick that speaks to the exciting possibilities of the Lunar New Year.”

To complement the ‘Ayam Oren’, TCRS introduces the Ong-ren Bliss beverage - a refreshing beverage that perfectly balances the dish's sweet and spicy profile.

The ‘Ayam Oren’ sets are now available at all TCRS outlets nationwide.
