สวัสดีsawadee kha , Loy Krathong is a fascinating and enchanting festival that takes place annually in Thailand. Exciting that 8 Kia Peng Suites was having Loy Krathong celebration!
It is a time when people come together to celebrate the beauty and power of the natural world, paying tribute to the rivers, lakes and oceans that are such an important part of Thai life.
The festival takes place on the full moon night in the twelfth lunar month, which usually falls in November.
On this night, people throughout the country gather together to light candles and float small, decorated baskets which are called "krathongs" down the rivers and waterways.
These krathongs are traditionally made from the cut-off outer layer of a banana tree trunk or a spider lily plant, and decorated with flowers, candles, and incense sticks. They are then released onto the water in order to ask for forgiveness and good luck.
In addition to the krathongs, the festival also features a range of other activities designed to honor the waters.
Mouse mommy and family having a fun-filled activities and Thai foods throughout the night! The kids MR and MH were also get to explore and experience the Loy Krathong’s activities and the meaning of the festival.
All of the hotel guests also got the opportunity to feast popular and delicious Thai desserts.
1. Miang kham is a snack food that originated in the northern part of Thailand, originally using pickled tea leaves.
Each wrap is filled with an array of Thai flavors—hot, sour, salty, and sweet all take a turn. Ginger and chilies bring the heat, lime adds tartness, dried shrimp gives each bite a burst of salinity, and coconut and peanuts contribute sweet nuttiness.
2. Luk chup: Luk chup is a sweet and colorful dessert made from mung bean paste, sugar, and food coloring. The paste is molded into small shapes like fruits, vegetables, and nuts.
3. Mango sticky rice: Mango sticky rice is a beloved Thai dessert made from glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk and sugar. The rice is then served with freshly sliced mangoes, creating a perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and tangy flavors.
A blessing fun-filled Loy Krathong Festival at 8 Kia Peng Suites for all!
