Practical CSR Project By The Guardian Malaysia And Staffs To Improve The Quality Of Life For Orphanage And Elderly Home!


Guardian Malaysia, the leader in health and beauty retailing, is marking its 50th anniversary with a RM250,000 community project  to upgrade the facilities of 10 charity homes in the country. These homes, seven of which are orphanages, are located near to Guardian outlets in various parts of the country.  Most of them have requested for repairs, upgrading and refurbishment of living quarters.    




Mouse mommy always support corporate social responsibility (CSR) project and this Guardian Malaysia CSR project was really helpful and practical in improving orphanage's daily life. The Guardian Malaysia not only donate a budget for this CSR movement, The Guardian staffs also play role and involved directly in this movement. Well done!  




Another thumbs up for Ms Mala as in she was not only taking care of the basic needs of the children. She was nurturing and cultivate the children's talent according to their capabilities. As in mouse mommy saw many trophy and awards in the orphanage home's cupboard. Such a caring and attentive of Ms Mala for the children!   




In addition to a budget of RM250,000, Guardian Malaysia has also encouraged its staff to volunteer their time to help in the improvement works, and to spend some quality time with the children. 


Leading by example, is Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Health and Beauty Sdn Bhd (Guardian Malaysia), Mr. Soren Lauridsen. Leading a  team  from Guardian’s store support office and Guardian stores, he spent time today, helping to repaint the gates, perimeter walls and grilles of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary, in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.


No job gets done easily. All of this required manpower and efforts from everyone that get involved. Repaint the gates, walls and grilles for Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary, Kuala Lumpur was taken three days to completed the task. Mouse mommy was happy and appreciate the hardwork that done by the sincere Guardian Malaysia staffs. Well done!  


In addition to the fresh paint-work, Guardian Malaysia also installed air-conditioners, fans and mosquito nettings for the orphanage, which is home for 55 orphans and children from single-parent families.

Mr Lauridsen said:  “Each year, as we celebrate our anniversary, we make it a point to reach out to those in need.  Over the years, Guardian has been extending aid and assistance through various forms. Often its financial contributions, other times, its donation in kind and through fun and cheer. This year, as Guardian Malaysia is celebrating our 50th anniversary, we decided to extend greater support to those living close to where we operate.”


“We asked our teams at the stores to recommend charity homes in their neighbourhood which needed repairs or improvements, but were short of funds.  We picked 10 homes where we see our contributions as making a meaningful difference.”


Mr. Lauridsen was happy that by helping to improve the living quarters of these children, orphans and the elderly and believe that able to empowering them to be more confident and eventually become self-sufficient.


The charity home makeover programme started last month, and is scheduled to be completed by this November.  The other  recipient homes are:

ii.               Chrystal Home Taiping (Perak)
iii.              Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Nanthisar (Negeri  Sembilan)
iv.              Happiness Centre For The Mentally Disabled Children (Melaka,\
v.              Calvary Boys Home & Calvary Girls Home (Johor)
vi.             Rapha Children's Home (Pahang)
vii.            Rumah Anak-anak Yatim Salimah  (Kelantan)
viii.           Sabah Cheshire Home, and
ix.             The Salvation Army Kuching Children's Home (Sarawak).

Over the last 9 years, Guardian has contributed close to RM4.5 million to a wide-range of charity and worthy causes, with a bias towards single-parent families and orphanages.

Celebrates 70s Theme Mid-Autumn Festival In Sungei Wang Lantern Fun Park!


Sungei Wang celebrates it's 40th anniversary and Mid-Autumn Festival with a blast from the past showcasing the glamour of the 1970s era from now till 4 October 2017. A giant gramophone sits facing Jalan Sultan Ismail together with the signature Sungei Wang Lantern Park are to greet the shoppers. As you step into the Centre Court, a two-level theatre backed with a gigantic ferris wheels set as main stage where the launch, performances and activities are to take place.


BB Park was the entertainment hub with singing stage, fun fair and theatre; it is the place for fun games and glamour shows. This Mid-Autumn, Sungei Wang reminisces the BB Park glamour era by transforming the mall back to 1970s. Walking through the Sungei Wang Walk, shoppers can soak into the festive mood with family and friends with glittering lightbulbs and lanterns.


On September 15, Ms. Yuen May Chee, Complex Manager of Sungei Wang during the light up ceremony of Sungei Wang Lantern Fun Park, also officiate the celebrations as well as unveil the charity box for donation drive. The launch was not hyped with a roaring lion dance performance but the highlight of the Sungei Wang Lantern Fun Park Mid-Autumn Musical was also performed to entice the crowd on the upcoming musical. Fans were also entertained by stage appearance of popular band Mad August and local celebrity Ruby Yap. Sungei Wang Lantern Parade 30 September 2017 Step into the third year since it started, Sungei Wang Lantern Parade will be happening on 30 September 2017 and will grace with the grace with the artistes appearance of Miu Chu, popular singer from Taiwan, local renown band and Ruby Yap, the new and upcoming singer from Malaysia. The official radi, 988 will have six of their radio announcers coming join the parade as well.

There are a series of interactive decorations such as the retro stage, rickshaw and 70s street setting with seating can be found around the Centre Court as a great photography opportunity for the shoppers!


The celebration with the grand Sungei Wang Lantern Parade on 30 September together with foreign artist , 988 DJs and a hundred dance troupes circulating Bukit Bintang area. Shoppers got a chance to walk the parade with Sam, Jason, Cheryl, Danny, Cassey Soo and Mike where they will be hosting some games with their fans as well. Mark your date for this mooncake festival parade at Sungei Wang!

On the parade day, do your bid for charity and donate a minimum of RM1 for a lantern for the charity fundraising campaign "A New Home, A New Hope" for Padmasambhava Children Loving Association Klang Selangor. Sungei Wang does not forgetting the less fortunate during the mid-autumn celebration. Good effort from Sungei Wang!


The orphanage home - Padmasambhava Children Loving Association Klang Selangor is currently occupying an ill-suited shop lot and is in urgent need of a new home.

Other than that, Sungei Wang also had a Lantern Redemption activity that allows shoppers to bring home with an exclusive Sungei Wang Lantern together and I Love Yoo! Voucher with spending of a minimum of RM160 in any outlets in Sungei Wang or a minimum of RM100 at Lantern Market hall (both in a maximum of 2 accumulated receipts) to be entitled for this redemption.


Besides that, there are free arts and crafts workshops for kids during the weekends. Parents can register for their kids at LG Floor Customer Service Counter for Retro Lantern Drawing, Oriental Hand Fan Drawing and Chinese Mini Umbrella Painting.
