Congratulations! Bio-home Was Certified | Most Number of Participants In Hand Towel Washing Event By Malaysian Book Of Records!



Mouse mommy and family is so excited to support and participated bio-home Malaysian Book of Records for the most participants in a hand towel washing event. This is a fun-filled and go green awareness ‘WE CARE’ activation held at the Atria Mall Shopping Gallery!


More than 725 participants, mainly children and their parents set the record in less than an hour using bio-home laundry detergent at an educational roadshow that was held in conjunction with the bio-home ‘WE CARE' campaign.


Bio-home was certified as the record holder for Most Number of Participants in a Hand Towel Washing event by Malaysian Book of Records representatives. Congratulations bio-home!

The record number of participants were representatives from 100 kindergartens and 10 primary schools that bio-home had collaborated with this year, providing the children with insight into the environment, fostering recycling initiatives and teaching them life-skills such as helping with home chores. Members of the public also participated.


Every participant received a white cotton hand towel with a stain on it. 


Their task was to wash the hand towel using bio-home laundry detergent and water until the stain was completely removed. 


The speed with which the stain was removed showcased bio-home laundry detergent’s gentle yet effective cleaning power. Ya, it is works! Cleaning is effective with bio-home laundry detergent.

TIME To Vote For Our Favourite Brands At Guardian Most Voted Brands (MVB) Award!


Yes! Guardian Most Voted Brands is the contest that I look for annually! Mouse mommy can voted for my favourites Brands that bought from Guardian Malaysia! The annual brand appreciation season, launched 18 years ago, starts tomorrow and will close on 14 May. This year, more than 150 brands will vie for 64 categories of coveted awards.


Ms Shirley Ham, Senior Manager, Digital Marketing (E-Commerce) of Guardian Malaysia said: “When Guardian Malaysia conceptualised the award in the year 2000, our objective was to connect our millions of shoppers to all our business partners and brand owners, by having them vote their favourite brand.”

“We view this annual award as our way of contributing to the brand owners’ relationship building with our customers. It also gives the brand owners an unbiased valuation, as the votes are from our customers, those who actually buy and use their products.”

Called the Most Voted Brands (MVB) Award, this year’s voting format is also designed to gain an insight into the evolving needs of consumer, their fast-paced lifestyles and purchasing trends!  Reflecting the digital lifestyle of majority of today’s consumers, the voting process will continue to be conducted entirely in digital format. This means, all voting will be done online.

The questions are aimed at enabling both Guardian and brand owners to better understand brand preference behaviour, as well as give an insight into demographics and segmentation of shoppers.

For the customers, a total of RM40,000 worth in travel vouchers and Guardian vouchers are up for grabs! 


The voting involves a simple three-step process. Spend, vote and submit with receipt code.  All customers who submit their votes with a valid receipt will stand a chance to win one of 68 prizes, totalling RM40,000 in Travel vouchers and Guardian vouchers.
The prizes are as follows:

CENDANA And MATRADE | Promote Malaysian Arts And Culture Internationally!


The Cultural Economy Development Agency (CENDANA) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will be collaborating to provide opportunities for Malaysian artists and practitioners to tap into their respective programmes, facilities and networks to grow the exports of the Malaysian arts and culture sector. 

The collaboration will among others, facilitate greater access for the local arts and culture community to CENDANA's newly announced Mobility Funding Programme as well as MATRADE’s export promotion funding programmes such as Market Development Grant (MDG) and Services Export Fund (SEF) if they qualify according to the set criterias.

The Mobility Funding Programme provides support to local artists to present high-quality works that express and enrich Malaysia’s artistic diversity, as well as increase arts appreciation and participation in Malaysia or abroad. It also supports local artists to participate in international festivals, exhibitions, trade fairs, biennales, conferences amongst others in addition to supporting our artists to nurture relationships with a view of developing new markets and audiences for their work.  

According to the Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE, Ir. Dr. Mohd Shahreen Zainooreen Madros, the national trade promotion agency has always supported the development of the local arts industry and promotion of Malaysian art expression internationally through its global network. 

In the past recent years, MATRADE has been actively involved in promoting Malaysian arts in major cities of London, Melbourne, Shanghai and Miami. MATRADE has 46 offices worldwide.

For the past 5 year, Malaysia has exported RM14.6 million worth of visual arts (paintings, drawings & sculpture) and these arts were exported mainly to Switzerland, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, USA and UAE.

Exports of Malaysian arts however are still relatively small. Nonetheless, potentials for arts and culture can go beyond physical exports as it also has services components that can be marketed globally such as Intellectual Property (IP),  creative contents as well as commercial talents and professionals. “Therefore, MATRADE will continue to promote Malaysian arts and culture in the international market as we realise market potentials have not been fully tapped yet,” he explained.

According to Ir. Dr. Mohd Shahreen Zainooreen Madros, MATRADE recognises that the cultural economy is an important component of the creative economy. As such apart from promoting exports of digital content, MATRADE’s collaboration with CENDANA will now allow the national trade promotion agency to also strengthen the export promotion of the other component of the creative economy, which is the arts and culture sector. 

“Together with CENDANA, our facilitation can be a catalyst for local companies to export and strengthen their footprint overseas,” he added. Some of the areas where MATRADE can assist include identifying industry opportunities as well as provide advisory services to the Malaysian companies intending to export their products or services. If need be, Malaysian exporters can also leverage on MATRADE’s overseas offices when meeting potential buyers and partners.

During the joint press conference held today, Izan Satrina Dato’ Mohd Sallehuddin, Founding CEO of CENDANA said “Malaysia is a country that has an abundance of great art and beautiful stories to share with the world. However, many artists may not have the necessary tools to respond to opportunities extended to them. So, today is a great step forward where not only do we as CENDANA play a role in enabling our artists, but we are able to synergise these efforts with government agencies like MATRADE to benefit a wider arts and culture community. The Mobility Funding Programme looks at small to mid-scale touring work from performing arts, visual arts and independent music, focusing on local and international platforms that improve access to high-quality Malaysian art.”

The Market Development Grant (MDG) is a financial support facility in the form of a reimbursable grant to assist Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Professional Service Providers, Trade & Industry Associations, Chambers of Commerce and Professional Bodies to undertake eligible export promotional activities. This financial support will address the funding gaps among the exporters who need it to scale up and to defray costs of international promotion. 

YBhg Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, Secretary General of Ministry of Tourism and Culture graced the joint press conference and acknowledged the returning 7-member Malaysian delegation that travelled to the Australian Performing Arts Market at Brisbane, Australia in  February 2018. YBhg Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah also applauded Koe Gaik Cheng, a Malaysian arts administrator that was selected after a competitive call for application to be attached with the Adelaide Festival Centre from July 2018. The Adelaide Festival Centre currently presents the OzAsia Festival, Australia's premier international arts festival that is focused on Asia.

YBhg Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah said “It is an honour to acknowledge these 7 artists in taking part in CENDANA’s first trade mission in an effort to reinforce the position of Malaysian arts and culture and our practitioners in the eyes of the international players. Malaysia’s art scene is set for a surge with the establishment of CENDANA and such collaboration like today with MATRADE is highly commendable and we encourage for more public and even private partners to come forward in ensuring the sustainability of our cultural economy.”


Through the initiative, the Malaysian delegates ranging from performance artist and playwright directors, to contemporary Malaysian gamelan ensemble and a group of multi-instrumentalists were able to promote and showcase their works at the APAM and resulted in opportunities to perform in Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Hungary among others. Koe Gaik Cheng will return from her attachment and return to share her learnings with the local communities.

Nestlé Professional® Culinary Arts Award | Challenge And Encouragement For Culinary Arts Students

Launched in 2006, the Nestlé Professional® Culinary Arts Award was organised with the objective of raising the standards of the culinary arts in Malaysia. Supported by Skills Malaysia, a programme developed by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) and endorsed by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), the award is opened only to selected top students from colleges that offer the Culinary Art Studies Diploma Programme. Awesome! Mouse mommy feels so grateful of great effort and contribution by Nestlé Professional!

The 10th Nestlé Professional Culinary Arts Award (CAA) crowned a Taylor’s University student the winner of CAA 2018 today after an intensive three-day competition organised by Nestlé Professional in partnership with the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH). The long-running competition is part of a larger effort to develop young talents in the industry.


Held from 25-27 January 2018, the CAA 2018 saw 10 talented students from Malaysia’s top culinary institutions compete for the coveted grand prize of RM3,000 in cash and a 6-month internship under the tutelage of Antoine Rodriguez, Executive Chef at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. The Champion also stood the chance to represent Malaysia in the upcoming ASEAN Skills Competition and World Skills Competition, a global movement to raise the profile and recognition of skilled individuals. This competition was giving an opportunity to the culinary students to challenge themselves.


Commenting on the Awards, Yit Woon Lai, Nestlé Professional Business Executive Officer for Malaysia-Singapore said, “At Nestlé Professional, we believe in the importance of developing young talent and we are proud to collaborate with the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) to organise the 10th CAA that continues this proud tradition. With the bar being continually raised at each competition, we are confident that the CAA is on-track in helping Malaysia’s young talents represent the country with pride and competence in the field of culinary arts.”



Eng Sheng Pei (Edward), now in the 3rd year of his Diploma in Culinary Arts course, emerged as the winner of the 10th Nestlé Professional Culinary Arts Awards primarily because of his creation of "Garden", a decadent dessert made of chocolate mousse, salted caramel and pistachio 'sand', which showcased his understanding and mastery of preparation, plating and the basics of cooking. He is excited to be able to take one step closer to achieving his dream.

"I have always found joy in preparing food and I am so grateful to all my lecturers, especially my mentor Mr. Farouk Othman who has tremendous faith in me. I hope I have made them proud and I am really looking forward to the privilege of interning under Chef Antoine," said Eng.

The first runner-up, Idris Muaz Bin Mazlan of UiTM Permatang Pauh received a cash prize of RM2,000 while the second runner-up, Shaun Wong Wen Jin of UCSI University received RM1,000. Both runner-up winners also received a medal and certificate endorsed by Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) and Skills Malaysia. More photos can click here to view.


“It’s always a pleasure to see skill, passion and creativity in the kitchen, and it’s important to nurture these young talents so that more people can experience and appreciate their creations,” said Antoine Rodriguez, Executive Chef at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. “I hope all the participants will inspire more young people pursuing a career in the culinary arts, bringing their own unique interpretation to the table and to the rest of the world.”


The professional judging panel comprised of Chef Sabri Hassan who is a Consultant at the Culinary Art and Kitchen; Chef Rajesh Khanna Director of Culinary, Restaurant and Bar of Sheraton Imperial KL Hotel; Chef Mohd Nazrin @ Ludwig Gaisbauer, owner of speciality food manufacturer German Delicatessen and Chef Antoine Rodriguez. Together, they evaluated every aspect of each participant, ranging from kitchen skills and organisation to appearance, taste and texture, and more.
