Christmas Festive Cheer A-Plenty For Underprivileged Kids At The Curve & eCurve!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, Jingle all the wayWith the festive season just around the corner, the Curve and eCurve spread Christmas cheer to a group of more than 25 underprivileged children, treating them to an unforgettable day out at both malls, in conjunction with the Curve’s The Sweetest Christmas Ever! and eCurve’s Spectacular Christmas Circus: French Edition campaigns

Thanks the Curve and eCurve that put CSR programme in their festive celebration. Let’s the whole community celebrate and happiness together!

The children from Rainbow Home jumped with joy as they arrived at the Curve’s Centre Court, which was transformed into a candy wonderland! Filled with lollipop and candy cane decorations, in keeping with the mall’s sweet theme for the year, it was truly every kid’s dream come true!

They were also greeted by Santa Claus and treated to candy canes while waiting for the main event to begin.

The wait was worth it as the day kicked off to an exciting start with a candy-inspired performance. Against the backdrop of a colourful candy house, eye-catching dancers decked out in bright, candy-adorned costumes lit up the stage as they performed to fun Christmas tunes.

The energetic show kept the little ones on the edge of their seats and tapping their feet to the popular Christmas jingles.

Jazmi Kamarudin, Senior General Manager of the Curve, said, “Christmas is a time for joy and merriment, but most importantly it is a time of giving and sharing. Following through with our age-old tradition, we are delighted to play host to the kids from Rainbow Home and give them a unique candy-coated Christmas this year.

Sweets have always been associated with happiness and good feelings and we hope that the event today has given our guests exactly that!”

The second part of the celebration was just a stone throw’s away, taking place at eCurve. Kids from Siddharthan Care Centre arrived to a circus set in the streets of France! With iconic buildings such as the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, and Christmas trees nestled in between.  At the centre of it all, was a classic circus stage, hinting at the thrilling acts in store for the evening.

The kids’ excitement reached a peak as the ringmaster made his appearance on stage, signalling the start of the evening’s main event. The Centre Atrium was filled with suspense as the performers put on a memorable show for the little ones. From the talented magician to the amazing feats of the snake lady, there was not a boring second in sight.

Gina Long Ahmad, Assistant General Manager Leasing and A&P said, “We find that there is no greater fulfilment than bringing joy and laughter to those in need. By bringing in the kids from Siddharthan Care Centre to celebrate a unique, French-themed Christmas with us this year, we hope that the kids experienced a wonderful Christmas like no other and enjoyed their outing here with us today.”

The candied celebration at the Curve’s Centre Court came to an end with a scrumptious tea-party, complete with a variety of desserts at Paddington House of Pancakes, while the young ones at eCurve were treated to a delicious seafood dinner at The Manhattan Fish Market. The kids went home smiling as they also received various goodies, courtesy of the Curve and eCurve.

Thanks Avon Commitment To Funding Breast Cancer Initiatives For 24 Years Already!

No Woman Should Be In The Dark! Mouse mommy was glad that Avon ‘s commitment to breast cancer  grows bigger every year. Avon have been supported and involved with breast cancer for 24 years as part of the commitment to improving the wellbeing of women.

Avon is the strong corporate supporter for issues related to women including its core corporate social responsibility pledge, a breast cancer promise. Well done Avon!

This year,  through the Pink Light Project, Avon continues to partnering with National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) to help every woman to know the risk, the signs and what action to take when it comes to breast cancer, no 1 killer for women.

Avon, LPPKN and Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA) are reaching  out to more women at 11 locations including Sabah and Sarawak and more series with MAKNA until the end of the year. Click here to find out the MAKNA Mobile Mammogram Trailer details.

The pledge is to make sure no woman dies because she was in any doubt about breast cancer. She must know how to take control of her breast health, by being fully aware of the risks, symptoms and what actions she could take.

During the closing ceremony which was graced by the Chairman of LPPKN Dato Mariam Mas Yacob, Avon handed over the FREE mammogram check worth RM25,000 to MAKNA that will go to the local community beginning November this year.

The ceremony saw Avon Malaysia’s General Manager Onur Erdinc handing the donation to Habiba Abdul Rahman, the President of Cancer Support Group MAKNA and witnessed by Chairman of LPPKN.

Avon through the breast cancer campaign launched in 1992, contributed RM1.3 million that benefited hospitals, breast cancer centers, non-government organizations and breast cancer related support activities.

Adds Onur “I hope this effort and contribution will make a difference impact to women’s life. Moving forward, we will ensure this mission continues and reaching out to more women. I strongly encourage all women to care about themselves and share their experience with more women."

Earlier that morning,  Avon organised The Pink Light Mall Hunt at Berjaya Times Square Mall that gained support from 200 participants as a symbolic to the closing ceremony. The closing event also attended by hospitals, breast cancer survivors, Mydin Holdings and LPPKN staff.

Joy | Love | Confident Parenting With Philips Avent

Mouse mommy totally agree that parenting can be exciting, challenging and sometimes overwhelming, besides being one of the happiest times in many parents’ lives.

Being equipped with more parenting knowledge can make a lot of difference and improve the parenting experience – such as when it comes to breastfeeding.

“At Philips AVENT, we understand that the first 1,000 days of a baby’s life are the most influential in their development. We aim to support parents and their babies through every step of this growing-up journey. For 30 years, we have provided tools to help mums breastfeed for longer.

Today, we continue to work with experts who are able to advise mums on how to overcome their breastfeeding challenges. In addition, we work with nutrition and diet experts who can guide parents in the best foods to give their children as they grow, while we offer parents innovative appliances to make preparing nutritious meals for babies and children a breeze,” said Wendy Ho, Marketing Director at Philips Malaysia.

In collaboration with the AEON Mummy’s Card Club, Philips AVENT organised a fruitful Parenting with Confidence talk at the AEON lounge in Mid Valley Megamall recently, providing hands-on learning for over 30 parents and parents-to-be. At the session, parenting experts shared tips and even their own experiences to help the new and future parents experience the best growing-up journey with their children and loved ones.

Participants at the session had the opportunity to learn and gain understanding on caring for their newborn from certified breastfeeding counsellor Jasmeen Tay Abdullah. They later participated in an immersive session on the Do’s and Don’ts of bathing newborns led by Matron Ivy Kong from the LYC Mother and Child Centre.

The session continued with an engaging sharing session by DJ Yoon from MY.fm, a local radio personality who is a first-time mother to a 9-month-old son. She shared her real-life day-to-day experience of being a new mother, an experience that resonated with the other parents. The session ended with a cooking demonstration by Chef Marina Mustafa who introduced easy-to-make nourishing confinement dishes for new mothers as well as meals for babies being introduced to solids and also toddlers.

“Such an initiative by Philips AVENT helps to keep new mothers empowered, by offering knowledge and encouragement, and connecting the support system, including the local support group. It is very important to equip yourself with the correct knowledge from such sessions. Being a mother is indeed a lifetime journey. As mothers, we are constantly on a journey of learning to become better at parenting,” said Jasmeen.

Glad that Philips AVENT is also committed as a supporter of breastfeeding for all mothers to enabling more mothers to feel confident and reassured in their journey through motherhood. Kudos!
