During theCovid-19 pandemic,
bread has become a Malaysian staple, as a snack or as a main meal. Eat bread
with a cup of beverage is normal routine.
However, the fear that pranksters or
irresponsible people may have accidentally or purposely tampered with those
soft, fluffy loaves has grown apace. Bread bags in Malaysia have traditionally
been secured by Kwik Lock bread tags that can be opened and closed, undetected,
making bread an easy target for pranks and malicious attacks.
How can you be certain that the bread
in your cart has not been tampered with?
Simply check the seal on
Massimo’s first in Malaysia tamper-evident bread bag packaging to enjoy your
favourite bread with peace-of-mind.The new tamper-evident packaging, sealed
for your safety will be rolled out across all Massimo bread loaves, beginning
today.
Famed for its wholesome and healthy
baked products, Massimo launched the laser sealed tamper-evident packaging, a
major step forward in the commercial bakery industry, to address your concerns
on product safety and integrity that have grown during the Covid-19
pandemic.
Here’s how to enjoy the wholesome
goodness of Massimo sandwich loaves with confidence:
Step 1
Look for your #SealedForSafety
Massimo sandwich loaf on the bread rack
Step 2
#CheckTheSeal is intact
Step 3
Purchase with confidence, and enjoy
with peace-of-mind
Step 4
To open, break the seal; to close,
twist the packaging and attach the Kwik Lock bread tag
Always #CheckTheSeal. If the seal is
not intact, pick another Massimo loaf to avoid accidental or malicious
contamination.
The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd, the makers
of Massimo, invested RM1million in the laser-seal tamper-evident packaging
technology from the United States of America to keep its products sealed for
safety for you. The tamper-evident packaging helps to alert you to any visible
alterations to the product.
The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd, Managing
Director, Mr Jeremy Goon explained that the tamper-evident packaging further
uplifts product integrity, food safety and quality assurance for your safety
and satisfaction.
“Towards the end of 2019 a social media
challenge in the United States of America had pranksters opening food products
and deliberately contaminating them via grossly unhygienic behaviors before
carefully placing the contaminated products back for unwitting consumers to
buy. The risk of such pranks, and its possible effects on consumers especially
during the Covid-19 pandemic required us to increase product safety and
integrity. We quickly found a solution to safeguard our customersbut with global lockdown restriction, it has taken us a longer time to
implement,” Mr. Goon explained.
“In Malaysia, only Massimo has
tamper-evident bread loaf packaging because your safety and satisfaction is our
priority. Your peace-of-mind as you enjoy the wholesome goodness of our
products, confident in its safety is important because Massimo cares,” he said.
Mr Goon shared that the laser seal tamper-evident
technology was specifically designed to make any tampering clearly
visible.
“Massimo is a consumer-centric
organization that always considers safety, practicality and functionality of
our packaging. The laser-seal packaging we use is easy for legitimate users to
open while clearly showing any attempts to break the seal by non-users. Always
remember to check the seal for your safety and for your peace-of-mind,” he
added.
Since its introduction in 2011, Massimo
has become a Malaysian staple, providing wholesome goodness through a variety
of bread including Sandwich Loaf, Sandwich Loaf with Wheat Germ, 100% Whole
Wheat Loaf, Fine Wholemeal, Ricco Chocolato Loaf, and Kurma & Milk loaf.
Massimo breads are baked using quality ingredients under stringent quality
assurance to delight consumers with its deliciously healthy taste, and to give
them peace-of-mind with its tamper-evident packaging. More photos can click here to view.
The popular Massimo Sandwich Loaf with
Wheat Germ is infused with the natural goodness of wheat germ that is
associated with better heart health. Wheat germ is high in vitamin E, Omega-3
fatty acids, natural fibre, protein, B1, B2, B6, magnesium, phosphorus and
zinc. The whole wheat and fine wholemeal ranges are packed with the nutritional
goodness of fibre, essential nutrients and minerals, with the soft and fluffy
texture, Malaysians love.
Great
effort and opportunity for local farmers and entrepreneurs! The Federal
Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) and Shopee are looking to invite more
local farmers and entrepreneurs into their eFAMAPLACE campaign after recording
nine times return on investment (ROI) in just two months since the campaign
began on 17 December 2020.
To
digitalise marketing for Malaysia agrofood products, FAMA has established
strategic collaboration with e-commerce operators including Shopee. eFAMAPLACE
on Shopee is part of FAMA’s continuous efforts to help farmers and
entrepreneurs open online stores and equip them with digital marketing
knowledge. The aim is to prepare them for more challenges in the face of the
Covid-19 pandemic. FAMA’s Agrobazaar Malaysia store on Shopee which opened in
May 2020 has listed more than 250 products produced by local farmers and
entrepreneurs.
The
eFAMAPLACE features a microsite that is home to 7,000 items ranging from fruits
and vegetables to seafood, poultry as well as flowers. Malaysians can find
durian, tomatoes, starfruits, dragon fruits, beef, chicken, fresh cut flowers,
orchids as well as anchovies, cooking
paste, spices and more, making it a one-stop site to source for Malaysian
agro-food products. To access the
e-marketplace, Shopee users only need to type “FAMA” or “eFAMAPLACE” in the
search bar.
The
campaign now seeks to assist even more local farmers and entrepreneurs to set
up their online stores on Shopee, and will collectively be marketed via the
eFAMAPLACE microsite. To encourage users to purchase and support local
products, FAMA has allocated 50,000 vouchers
valued between RM5 to RM20 for the entire duration of the campaign till
August 2021.The vouchers that have been redeemed in the past two months since
17 December 2020 so far have recorded more than half a million Ringgit in sales.
Dato’ Zainal Abidin Yang
Razalli, Director General of FAMA said, “From the
results thus far, we can see that digital marketing is essential. Therefore,
FAMA will encourage our farmers and entrepreneurs to venture into digital
marketing which enables them to market their products directly to consumers for
everyone’s benefit. Our partnership with Shopee has proven to be an effective
method to assist local farmers and entrepreneurs expand their market reach.
Shopee has also committed to support the farmers and entrepreneurs with
onboarding and education via Shopee University. We hope that these efforts will
improve the standard of living for farmers and entrepreneurs nationwide.”
To
match FAMA’s contribution, Shopee is providing support in the form of publicity
and exposure to the sellers via its marketing assets on the App, website and
through social media. Efforts by Shopee to promote local produce and products
include dedicated livestreaming shows with Shopee Celebrity Squad A-lister Erma
Fatima or better known as Mak Cun via its channel Shopee Live.
Commenting
on the collaboration with FAMA, Ian Ho,
Regional Managing Director of Shopee said, “In a win-win for local
communities, we are able to give consumers access to agricultural products
directly from the hands of the local farmers and entrepreneurs through this
campaign. Our partnership with FAMA empowers the agricultural community and
shows how e-commerce breaks longstanding divides between farmers, fishermen and
the direct consumers of their goods. It is truly humbling to be given this
opportunity to support the digitalisation of Malaysia’s agricultural economy by
providing a robust ecosystem for fishermen and farmers to sell on.”
