CONGRATULATIONS WONDA COFFEE BAGS NEW WORLD RECORD TITLE IN GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS

WONDA Coffee, one of Malaysia’s leading ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee brands that offers the smooth taste of freshly brewed coffee in a can, has successfully made its mark in the Guinness World Records for ‘The Largest Online Video Chain of People Performing Football Juggle’, participated by football enthusiasts across Malaysia.

The record title was presented by an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records to Amy Gan, Vice President of Marketing of Etika Sdn Bhd - earning themselves yet another magnificent triumph and significant milestone.

In conjunction with the last FIFA World Cup, WONDA Coffee had organised its #WONDABolaCorner campaign to connect fellow Malaysians at every corner with their fervent enthusiasm for football by encouraging them to participate in an activity that would leave a historical significance while highlighting one of the country's best-sellers, WONDA Kopi Tarik.

As football is a game that can be played almost everywhere, WONDA Kopi Tarik likewise has given Malaysians an exciting experience to indulge in its freshly brewed coffee throughout this campaign with a presence at every corner to accompany them while watching “The Most Watched Game on Earth” - acting as the enabler in uniting Malaysians to achieve world recognition via football platform despite not making It in the World Cup.

Malaysians are known for their devotion to football, hence WONDA attempted to bring them together to break the previous record for "The Most People in an Online Chain Passing a Football" by taking it a step further and doing a football juggle. To juggle a football requires a certain level of skill as it is not as easy as just passing a ball. In an effort to galvanise more Malaysians into this exciting motion, some of Malaysia's world-class football talents such as Mohd Faiz Subri, Safiq Rahim, Qhouirunnisa, Steffi Sidhu and others had also initiated the effort to spark further excitement among Malaysians to achieve historical moments together with WONDA Coffee.

Amy Gan mentioned that WONDA Coffee has been determined to unite Malaysians by transcending geographical boundaries across the country via social media to create history like never before - which is to attempt the Guinness World Records involving all Malaysians to record a video of themselves juggling the football for a minimum of two kick-ups without dropping it.

“The initiative has been a massive success that can be validated by the overwhelming response and mass participation of Malaysians which far surpassed our initial expectations. We truly appreciate and would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support throughout this activity and we hope it will contribute to connecting communities at every corner through the shared goal of breaking worldwide records.

“We are very honoured to have been awarded such privileged recognition and undoubtedly, the endorsement was another feather in our cap after the year-long efforts in championing the spirit of togetherness among Malaysians towards a more united Malaysia with WONDA Coffee. It spells further excitement for WONDA Coffee as it strengthens our position as one of the leading RTD Coffee brands and our excellence in appealing to local consumers,” added Amy.

In the past, Etika has been credited with setting significant industry milestones, and after breaking a number of records, the company is committed to setting more in the future.

HÄAGEN-DAZS CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH A GLOBAL FREE SCOOP GIVEAWAY AND THE LAUNCH OF ‘THE ROSE PROJECT’ WITH A $100K BURSARY FUND HONOURING ITS FEMALE FOUNDER #WomenWhoDontHoldBack

Reuben Mattus made ice cream, but Rose Mattus really made Häagen-Dazs.

A trailblazing woman who didn’t hold back, Rose broke glass ceilings in 1960s’ New York and made Häagen-Dazs a trendsetter prized by ice cream fanatics with her ingenious marketing & brand building tactics. While Reuben focused on obsessively creating the best quality products and flavours that would become the quintessential symbol of luxury and indulgence, Rose basically ran the business so her husband could become successful. Her favourite Häagen-Dazs flavour? The iconic Vanilla. On International Women’s Day, Häagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream will be rebranded as the ‘Founder’s Favourite’ in recognition of Rose’s life-long love for it.

Over 100 Häagen-Dazs Shops around the world will offer free Vanilla ice cream scoops to everyone in its biggest global giveaway to date, while proudly rebranding as a woman-founded business established 1960. In Malaysia, this will take place in all Häagen-Dazs Shops in a Buy 2 Get 1 promotion between 6-10 Mar (Mon-Fri).

As part of the celebration, a limited-edition IWD run of 1960 Häagen-Dazs ‘Founder’s Favourite’ ice cream pints has been created to honour Rose. The pints will be available in all Haagen-Dazs Shops throughout the month of March and consumers can redeem this limited offer by nominating someone for The Rose Project.

This International Women’s Day also sees the launch of ‘The Rose Project’, a purpose-driven initiative with a $100k bursary to support #WomenWhoDon’tHoldBack, honouring the legacy of Rose Mattus.

Rose was a true business partner to Reuben and alongside their daughter Doris, they created the blueprint of the brand’s shops franchise business yet Rose’s contribution is relatively unsung compared to that of her husband who is credited with the brand creation. On 8th March 2023 this will change with the launch of ‘The Rose Project’, which aims to support talented unsung women across all fields around the world who Don’t Hold Back and who deserve recognition. This initiative shines a light on Rose Mattus’ own story and her Don’t Hold Back spirit and aims to inspire everyone to share their own story.

Nominations are now open for you to nominate an unsung woman (including yourself) that you believe deserves recognition for their trailblazing efforts, achievements and societal contributions. From these nominations, 50 ‘WOMEN WHO DON’T HOLD BACK’ will be selected for their commendable efforts and then put forward for the opportunity to win one of five monetary grants of $20,000 each.

The Rose Project fund will enable these five Rose Project Honourees to continue their exceptional work and unleash their potential (or even give to a cause they’re passionate about).

Nominations can be submitted via https://iwd.haagen-dazs.global/. Alternatively, comment on a Häagen-Dazs social media post celebrating the 2023 International Women’s Day campaign tagging the woman that you would like to nominate and a short description why, using the hashtag #RoseProject.

Amway Focusing on Gut Health For Nationwide Weight Management Programme

Amway (Malaysia) Holdings Berhad ("AMWAY Malaysia") is committed to further strengthening its efforts to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) including a key focus on weight management by launching the “Gut Reset-Weight Management” educational and awareness campaign nationwide. This is in line with AMWAY Malaysia’s efforts to support Malaysia’s focus towards preventive healthcare as the growing prevalence of NCDs is placing an increased strain on the country’s health system, with an annual healthcare cost exceeding RM9.65 billion.[1]

Diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and obesity are a growing health problem for many Malaysians, as evidenced by alarming statistics. According to the National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2019, an estimated 1.7 million Malaysians have three major risk factors for cardiovascular disease, while 3.4 million Malaysians have two major risk factors. In addition, the NHMS found that about one in five adult Malaysians live with diabetes, one in three with hypertension, two in five with high cholesterol and nearly half are either overweight or obese.[2]

AMWAY Malaysia’s Managing Director, Mr Michael Jonathan Duong said, "In response to our government's strategy to support the fight against non-communicable diseases, AMWAY, as a leading health and wellness company, recognizes the critical role of the private sector in addressing our national health concerns. With this in mind, AMWAY Malaysia is stepping up efforts to provide healthier lifestyle products and solutions through the “Gut Reset-Weight Management” educational and awareness campaign, with the aim of encouraging Malaysians to adopt a healthy lifestyle to avoid the risks of non-communicable diseases."

As AMWAY’s flagship brand, Nutrilite™ offers a range of nutritional and dietary supplements that help improve overall wellness. The “Gut Reset-Weight Management” campaign has a core focus on healthy gut as it is a critical precursor to healthy weight in the long termThe campaign will include a personalized weight and nutritional needs management programme that encompasses a balanced diet, supplements, exercise and a holistic lifestyle change.

The programme is aimed at providing essential daily nutrients and fibre one needs for overall weight control. In addition, the programme offers an individual health screening through an exclusive partnership with Innoquest Pathology, a leading diagnostic company in Malaysia for over 30 years. The launch of the “Gut Reset-Weight Management” campaign forms an important milestone for AMWAY Malaysia this year, further strengthening Nutrilite™'s market position globally for nearly 90 years.

Tackling NCDs is one of AMWAY Malaysia's key thrust within its 6 Pillars of Focus for 2023, referred to as the "BIG HEALTH” initiative. And as consumers increasingly focus on health and wellness, AMWAY Malaysia will continue to offer product solutions that are infused with technology and rely on sound research to support a healthier lifestyle for Malaysians.

For 2023, AMWAY Malaysia's second focus is to build a more sustainable entrepreneurship model to support Amway Business Owners (ABOs), which will drive the Group’s business growth. "One of the most important aspects of our business is to sustain and grow our AMWAY entrepreneurs. We strive to support our Amway Business Owners in their entrepreneurial journey towards generating sustainable income and creating value through mutually beneficial partnerships by helping them discover their full potential and achieve their goals. With over 400,000 ABOs within our network, we continuously focus on ABO-centric programmes and incentives, as we journey together towards AMWAY Malaysia’s 50th anniversary vision to be one of the leading health and wellness companies in Malaysia by 2026," Duong said.

AMWAY Malaysia registered a new record revenue of RM1,514.8 million in the financial year ended December 31, 2022 (FY2022), up 1.9% from RM1,485.9 million recorded in the previous financial year. The increase in sales was mainly due to strong demand for health and wellness as well as personal care products under the Lead with Nutrition initiative. Meanwhile, its net profit recorded a stellar growth of 109% to RM76.88 million compared to RM36.78 million registered in FY2021.

"AMWAY Malaysia has never been stronger, and we are certainly looking forward to building a profitable, sustainable future." Duong concluded.
