A Kiple Treats Of Special Vegetarian Lunch At Sandalo Healthy Vegetarian Cuisine With Johnson Low!

Many of us thinking of industry and transportation are the sources of greenhouse gas emissions. But, according to the United Nation Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report, animal husbandry and aquaculture emissions of greenhouse gases was up yo 18% of the global greenhouse gas emissions, which is greaters than 13.5% of transportation. Such a high emissions of animal husbandry can direct impact on the global warming. 

Vegetarianism is the most direct way to slower the global warming. Therefore, environmentalists called on the public to change to eat or encourage to eat more vegetarian food to slow the global warming effects. 

"Sandalo" a healthy vegetarian cuisine support the mission and Johnson was happy to share with us how to eat healthy in vegetarian meal and at the same time able to protect our environment and the Earth!

There are many vegetarian dishes available at Sandalo from appetizers to desserts. Mouse mommy loves the Froze Lady Finger which is Lady Finger served in ice cubes and dip it into soy sauce with wasabi. Such a perfect match of the taste and feeling refreshing! This recipe was adopted from Hong Kong style of eating when Johnson happens to travel to Hong Kong. A must try item!

Another special appetiser was Chilled Tomatoes, it taste so special and weird for mouse mommy. Good for those love to try out new dishes! As in Johnson was mention that Chilled Tomatoes was fermented for at least three days will their secret recipe before served. Hmm... worth to try it out.  

Sandalo Herbal Egg was also taste nice that it has been cooked for half a day to one day to get out of the herbs taste. Mouse mommy loves yummy rich taste of herbal egg.

The White Sauce Trio set was cooked with three different types of mushrooms and nicely blend the taste together. The set also served together with rice, soup and 3 types of pickles. Just nice to order as a lunch set during lunch hour!

Mouse mommy normally will try to avoid to order fry food. But, Sandalo Fried Spring Roll, Milky Crispy Abalone and Fried Wanton was nice to eat and the most important was less oil.

Three Cup Pleurotus was a dish of abalone mushroom that cooked together with basil leaves and sauce. It gives us a taste of yummy abalone mushroom taste with refreshing taste of basil leaves. Just a nice match of it! 

"Su Lai Choy" or "Choy Keok" was a tradisional home cook dish, and difficult to be found at outside. Surprisingly it is available at Sandalo! The "Su Lai Choy" was taste adequate sour and spicy and stewed with 'gai choy' or chinese mustard cabbage. Mouse mommy can feel the sweetness of home when eating this sour and spicy "Su Lai Choy".

Wine noodles was very rich in wine taste just like the one that mouse mommy has during confinement time. Ops! refresh my special bonding moments with baby...

Steamboat with cheese soup base was a signature dish at Sandalo. The cheesy soup base was nicely blend in the sweet and salty taste of cheese and perfectly match with the enoki mushroom and soy beancurd. The nature sweetness of the vegetables that cooked together in the cheese soup base had add the vegetables sweetness into cheesy soup base. Yum...yum... Mouse mommy has finished two bowls of the steamboat by myself.

There are six available soup base to choose from at Sandalo which is Tomyam soup, Herbal soup, Seaweed soup, Cheese soup, Yam salty vegetable soup and burdock soup. Mouse mommy was highly recommended to try out the cheese soup base steamboat which was delicious and the owner Johnson was learn up the cheese soup recipe from Taiwan.  
      

The Sandalo To Fu Far was smooth and silky. Yum... A must eat dessert as in mouse mommy can taste the rich flavour of original soy bean. Yummy!

Celebrates A Go Green Mooncake Festival In Sunway Putra Mall With Family And Friends!

Mooncake festival just around the corner. Sunway Putra Mall gathered close to 1,000 participants at the Lantern Parade in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival. 

Welcoming visitors with lanterns decorated around the mall and a gigantic Lantern made out of recycled fabrics, children all appeared in high spirits and were seen roaming around with variety of shapes and colours of lanterns. The mall created this platform to promote racial harmony, as well as to promote recycling. 

The lantern parade flaged off from the Main Entrance of Sunway Putra Mall and towards Kenny Hills. To illuminate the celebration further, the parade were leaded by Dragon Troupe, Moon Fairies and mascots from Cold Storage and Mr DIY. Public, single mothers and children from eleven (11) charitable homes under the care of Touching Lives Club Kuala Lumpur & Selangor (TLC) including Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK), Rumah Charis, Yayasan Sunbeam Home, Yayasan Kebajikan Dan Sosial Kim Loo Ting, Kuala Lumpur, Shepherds Home, Dengkil, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Insan, Ekshaddi Refugees Learning Centre, Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua & Pusat Jagaan Kank-Kanak Wilayah Persekutuan, Single Mother’s Home, House Of Joy and Malaysian Spring Single Mother Association were part of the crowd who made it a memorable occasion.

Ms Phang Sau Lian, General Manager of Sunway Putra Mall, together with Dato’ Tan Choo Teck, Vice President of Touching Lives Club Kuala Lumpur & Selangor (TLC) and Organizing Chairman of Mid-Autumn Festival joined the parade.

“This is a reunion that expresses happiness and joy. We love to encourage our shoppers to get in touch with different festive and culture, and today we can see, it attracts not only the interest of locals but also international visitors.” said Ms Phang.

Dato’ Tan is glad that the initiative to gather public and other races together as one came to reality. “We thank the public for being part of this gathering and it’s very
meaningful to us.” said Dato’ Tan.

The underprivileged children aged between 7 to 16 years old were earlier treated to hone their artistic skills on mooncake and lantern making workshop organized by TLC followed by a dinner treat at Selera Street.

Just before the Lantern Parade began, Sunway Putra Mall made into The Malaysia Book of Records for The Tallest Lantern Made of Recycled Fabrics under the Arts & Entertainment category. Standing tall over 10.51M tall with the width of 3.98M, the lantern is displayed at the Main Concourse until 4 October 2017.

The lantern which was put together by the International University of Malaya Wales (IUMW) students and Kloth Cares, was inspired by patchwork designs that resembles Malaysia’s multicultural community. The lantern is surrounded with different types of recycled fabrics and the interior is filled with hundreds of warm coloured lanterns.

“This time around, together with Kloths Cares, we have gathered un-useable fabrics and old clothes donated by the public to recycle it and beautify our Lantern. College students were part of this initiative as they contributed their time and skills to complete the lantern. This is one of our effort to promote the importance of recycling” added Phang.

After 4 October, the fabrics collage of the lantern will be donated to Kloth Cares and it will be than recycled and reuse into making other products. A great effort in support go green movement! Reduce wastage and re-make into practical useful items or products. Thumbs up! 

To savour an assortment mooncakes and other delicacies, there will be array of offerings from Cold Storage, Haagen-Dazs, BreadStory, D’King, Aihana, as well as Wing Heong BBQ Meat, Fai Fong Bakery and Two Pineapples. As for colorful and vibrant lanterns, look out for Pro A Lantern. Besides that, an interesting themed workshops such as Mooncake Making, and Lantern Making for shoppers this 30 September and 1 October 2017.

Stay Active Family Lifestyle To Answer "What's Your WHY?" Together With David Beckham At The AIA Vitality Wellness Festival In Malaysia !

Malaysians were thrilled to welcome international football and lifestyle icon David Beckham, who was in Kuala Lumpur today as part of the AIA Healthy Living Tour. 

The Tour, which included stops in Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore, was held in conjunction with the formal launch of ‘What’s Your Why?’, AIA’s major new campaign in the Asia-Pacific region that saw the insurer and Beckham coming together to help people live longer, healthier, better lives.

Beckham is also the face of the ‘What’s Your Why?’ campaign, which he launched at an event held at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur earlier today.

The ‘What’s Your Why?’ campaign features a video that was directed and filmed by Academy Award-winner, Wally Pfister, on location in Bangkok. It showcases personal stories of people and their motivations for leading a healthy lifestyle, including why Beckham himself leads a healthy life.

Beckham’s visit to Kuala Lumpur also coincided with AIA Vitality’s first anniversary in Malaysia. To celebrate this milestone, AIA organised a day filled with events and activities that centred on health and wellness.

The AIA Vitality Wellness Festival was the highlight of the anniversary celebration. Held in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, festival goers were able to take part in various fitness activities including rock climbing, Zumba and Body Combat. Mouse mommy and MR also enjoying the Zumba and Body Combat session and feeling energetic !

AIA Vitality partners also collaborated to organise fun challenges such as the Reebok Jacob’s Ladder, Fitbit Vital Rush (Human Pacman) and Jaya Grocer Grocery Dash.

Yes! We are have fun with the positive fitness energy from everyone that attend the AIA Vitality Wellness Festival. Mouse mommy and MR also participate in the Zumba dance, and Combat too! Feeling energetic. A small suggestion that AIA Vitality Wellness Festival can create more varieties of fitness acitivities or at least two to three stations for each fitness activities for the public to join to reduce the long queue time and unable to reach the objective of the wellness festival - being Active! 

Each of the participants will be collecting the points via wristband and able to redeem their rewards goodies bag at the redemption counter. The more points that you collected will be rewarded a bigger goodies as encouragement to stay fit and healthy.

Making his appearance at the Festival, Beckham presented prizes to winners of AIA’s social media contest. The winners were challenged to complete a healthy activity each week for three consecutive weeks. The activities included eating a healthy meal, doing squats and exercising with friends.

The star also took time to meet children who are beneficiaries of AIA Touching Lives, AIA Malaysia’s signature CSR programme. Beckham collaborated with the children on an art piece and answered some questions that the young ones had for him.

Understanding that health is about diet as much as exercise, AIA also took the opportunity to shine a spotlight on healthy eating earlier in the day. The insurer hosted the AIA Vitality Healthy NasiLemakChallenge, inviting three Food & Beverage brands, The Good Co., dahmakan and Meal in Box, to create their own versions of a healthy nasilemak. Beckham was joined by Chief Marketing Officer of AIA Bhd., Eric Chang, and winner of MasterchefSelebriti MalaysiaDato’ FazleyYaakob to taste each chef’s healthy take on Malaysia’s favourite dish.
