Ho Ho Ho ! Christmas Fun at 1 Mont Kiara!

Recapture joyful moments with your loved ones this Christmas season at 1 Mont Kiara

Shoppers to the mall will be greeted by the sight of Christmas trees decorated with sparkly baubles, feather-light snowflakes, garlands as well as proud reindeers - all to usher in the wonderful time of the year.

Mouse mommy was having a date out with my buddy Wilson in 1Mont Kiara Mall. Enjoyable meet up and pampering session together after so long. Mouse mommy also takes this opportunity to wish all a Merry Christmas and a great New Year ahead together!

Highlights of the festive decorations include a colourful mushroom ladybug carousel stationed at the mall’s atrium, so parents can take this opportunity to recreate sweet memories with their children.

Complementing the vibrant displays are a slew of performances and activities planned out for shoppers.

These include stilt walkers, ballet performances by Asia Ballet Academy, Santa and Santarina Meet & Greets, magician walkabout along with Teddy and Polar Bear mascot appearances. 1Mont Kiara Photo Album

TOP Contributes Detergent Care Packs To Uplift MOH COVID-19 Patient-Facing Frontliners and Encourage Teen Vaccination

  1. Malaysia is in recovery mode with vaccination rates at over 90%, and fewer new cases. Teenagers between 12 to 17 years will be the next group to be vaccinated. Businesses, schools and colleges are reopening, domestic travel is picking up with more holiday destination. There is hope; but there is still much to be done with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 patient-facing frontliners continuing to serve despite the risk of being infected.

TOP detergent aims to create a virtuous circle of uplift and support that includes hard-pressed MOH COVID-19 patient-facing frontliners, vaccinators and NGO staff, while motivating more people to sign up for, and receive their vaccination.

TOP detergent is contributing 17,000 Advanced Micro-Clean Tech detergent care packs to MOH COVID-19 patient facing frontliners, vaccinators from 17 KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ Healthcare) Pusat Pemberian Vaksin (PPVs) and front line staff at six Anjung Singgah social intervention centres for the homeless.

Approximately 96,000 TOP detergent packs have and continue to be given to the vaccinated, including 6,000 packs earmarked for 12 to 17 year olds who will be receiving their first dose of the vaccine.

The total contribution value is more than RM424,000.

“The success of vaccination especially in the Klang Valley has resulted in a decrease of critical patient capacity in hospitals here, reducing the stress on health workers. All of us will need to form new mindful habits and practices to learn to live with the Covid-19 virus. Make the standard operating procedures part of your lifestyle to protect communities, and to give our frontliners some respite from the physical, mental and emotional toll of the past 19 months. Please take COVID-19 self-test or the saliva test more regularly especially if you are in frequent contact with people. Our thanks to Southern Lion and TOP for this timely contribution,” said Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin.

TOP, the No.1 detergent brand in Total Malaysia, is manufactured by Southern Lion Sdn Bhd for Lion Corporation of Japan.

Southern Lion Sdn Bhd, Managing Director, Kazuo Mabuchi said, “We recognise the sacrifice and courage of frontline personnel, and want to appreciate them with this functional gift because TOP cares for you. The TOP Advanced Micro-Clean Tech anti-virus detergent care pack will last a family of four for more than a month. We have worked with KPJ Healthcare to distribute TOP powder detergent to those get vaccinated. It is a positive way to reward people for doing the right thing to protect self, to protect all. We will also be working with JKJAV to appreciate 12 to 17 year olds who receive their vaccination. It is a massive exercise for us, but we believe that it can help,” Southern Lion’s Mabuchi explained.

Staff at Anjung Singgah’s six transit centres for the homeless in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Perak, Johor and Sarawak are at daily risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus as they are on the front line of serving the homeless.

“Staff at all our centers have come into contact with people who are COVID-19 positive, or lost someone they know to this disease. We are at risk every day, with only full vaccination and adherence to the SOPs keeping us safe. It feels good to be seen, recognised and appreciated by TOP. The 99.9% virus removing capability of TOP detergent, including COVID-19 virus, Influenza A is extremely important to us now,” explained Amir Rudin Abdul Rahman, Operations Officer, Anjung Singgah, Yayasan Kebajikan Negara.

“We are proud to be empowering Malaysians from the community level to be aware and to care through TOP’s breakthrough innovation. Each of us can play an important part by taking necessary steps such as getting vaccinated and getting the booster shot, double masking, sanitising hands, and washing our clothes with a detergent that is proven to remove the COVID-19 virus. In the spirit of #KitaJagaKita, we are making it through this difficult time together,” Mabuchi said in closing.

TOP has debuted Bebas Melangkah (Freedom), an uplifting and upbeat music video to shine a light on front liners, vaccinators and those who are stepping up to be vaccinated to stay strong and united in the face of COVID-19. The uplifting song was written and composed by Amy Bong, with soaring vocals by Amira Othman and Irfan Harris.

Catch the music video on YouTube (https://youtu.be/eJG6oZZVk5c), and share it to show your support for our frontliners.

ARTisFAIR | THE BIGGEST HYBRID ART EXHIBITION THAT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT ART | 11 TO 28 NOVEMBER 2021 AT FAHRENHEIT88, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

Seeing is believing. Thinking. Feeling. Art today is an intriguing spectrum of intellect, imagination, and emotion that sparks dialogues about life, existence, and our world. It is essentially a human experience.

ARTisFAIR is fashioned on this very premise, to challenge perceptions about art, while creating a new kind of appreciation and ownership. This biggest hybrid art fair in Malaysia aims to build a sustainable ecosystem of art and community within a real global marketplace.

Opening on November 11 to 28 at Fahrenheit88, ARTisFAIR showcases the voices, ideas, and colours of over 500 artists from Malaysia and Indonesia. The creative realm spans over 2,000 artworks, from paintings to sculptures and unique installations, in over 100,000 square feet of gallery space. The mission: to connect emerging and established artists with emerging collectors, across four levels of exciting, welcoming areas, to spark art appreciation from ground level. Because everyone deserves to have good art in their lives.

“This immersive art event was born out of a desire to champion creativity and make art accessible to a wider, appreciative audience,” says Andrew Yap, co-creator of ARTisFAIR, who brings his experience in running the World’s Biggest Book Sale, Big Bad Wolf Books, and 14 BookXcess bookstores, to this artistic venture. “By transforming this massive mall space into the largest art exhibition in the region, we’re inviting people of all walks of life to view the brilliance of contemporary art, while giving them the chance to actually own a piece.”

Produced by “art outliers” who bring a very different dialogue to the experience, it’s all about “trying to do something different,” says Andrew. Here, artists, emerging artists, the art and event public, interior buyers, and art collectors converge to create a spectacularly new dynamic—away from conventional art presentations. Taking it to tech, anyone can buy the artwork offline or online, with the website www.artisfairkl.com designed specifically for browsing and shopping.

“Never in my wildest dreams,” says Dato’ Sri Bernard Chandran, co-creator of ARTisFAIR, on branching out from high fashion to contemporary art. And yet, this has been his personal evolution, from pinning up Japanese airbrush art in his teenage years to being a serious collector of Southeast Asian contemporary works today. “In our ‘new world’ per se, the dimension of contemporary art needsto be presented outside the gallery, in a more dynamic 2/2 and lively way for people to interact with it, understand its relevance, and ultimately think that it’s cool.”

Dato’ Sri Bernard took on the job of curating the artwork, using the “French way of presenting” by mixing high with low to exude personality. “I took on everything as an artform by using the original crates and boxes to frame the art and mounting them on industrial broken walls, with plywood and hoarding. It’s raw, cool, and beautiful. It’s a big space but with a real thought process and spirit of innovation.”

“At the same time, we are so thankful to Fahrenheit88 for offering us the entire mall to showcase ARTisFAIR, and the artworks, almost carte blanche in terms of real estate,” adds Dato’ Sri Bernard. “It’s really not possible without Dato’ Joyce Yap and her team’s open and genuine support.”

It was a Saturday afternoon in April, deep in the pandemic, when both men met Nicholas Siau of PAPU—Pop Art Pop-Up – in a suburban mall in Kuala Lumpur, and called him on board as a key collaborator. “Nicholas had a small but well-curated collection of emerging and established Malaysian artists, and also opened up his space to incubate interest in art with classes and talks,” Andrew shares. “We immediately wanted to explore how we could support him and especially broaden the horizons of contemporary Malaysian artists.”

“Before I owned PAPU, I curated a show called LIMBO–‘neither here nor there’–and the concept was anonymous artwork by a wide range of artists, big or small; no size constraints, not limited by subject matter,” says Nicholas on his 2016 foray into “experimental” art fairs. “I wanted people to buy art because they wanted it, not for any other reason, only because they liked it.” The energy he brings as a young art lover, curator, dealer, and even rapper [as Nemo on the 2017 album ‘Not Rich Enough To Buy The Scene, Not Poor Enough For A Sob Story’], throws a new spin to the staid art scene.

This dynamic and diverse partnership brings about a significant change in societal evolution. “The end game is to make Malaysia beautiful,” says Andrew. “When people are creative, everything will be.” Chiming in with his imaginative mind and taste for “youth”, Dato’ Sri Bernard simply states: “Expect the unexpected.”

Through this exclusive partnership, Shopee users will now be able to access one of the largest online inventories of hotels, resorts, homes and apartments supplied by Agoda and Booking.com.

This new service offering is timely in meeting the needs of consumers, as domestic travel re-opens in Malaysia, and more people are planning holidays amid the year-end seasons. There has also been an increase of 37% more users in Southeast Asia searching for international destinations. Users can enjoy greater savings and exclusive travel deals by booking directly on Shopee. This partnership will also help to increase the reach and visibility of hotel partners to boost domestic and international tourism.

Apart from Malaysia, the partnership spans across other markets: Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Users across the region can seamlessly search, book and get instant confirmation for more than one million properties worldwide, all through the Shopee app.

Terence Pang, Chief Operating Officer at Shopee, said, “We are pleased to partner with leading travel platforms, Agoda and Booking.com to launch this new hotel booking service, which aims to provide our users with easy access to a wider variety of travel products and experiences. We also look forward to supporting the recovery of local travel and related tourism industries by promoting fun staycation ideas together with hotel partners. We invite everyone to travel safely and earn greater savings by booking their next holiday through Shopee.”

Damien Pfirsch, Chief Commercial Officer, at Agoda, said, “Travelers know and trust Agoda and Booking.com to help make travel easier, because we are passionate about using our technology to connect people with the widest choice and greatest value deals, whether they are in Asia or across the world. This partnership with Shopee, the first with a regional e-commerce partner, will conveniently bring these great deals to Shopee customers, on a platform they are familiar with. At the same time, we can better support our hotel partners and tourism operators by connecting them to the biggest online community of shoppers in Southeast Asia. Such partnerships will help accelerate the recovery of the domestic and global travel and tourism industry in the long term.”

In conjunction with the Shopee 11.11 Big Sale, the e-commerce platform brings the biggest savings in town via the 11-day long Book Hotels & Flights on Shopee campaign in partnership with Agoda, Booking.com and Airpaz. Happening from 11 to 21 November, Shopee users will be treated to exclusive deals and 10% discount vouchers (capped at RM20) for hotel and flight bookings on the e-commerce platform.

On top of that, users who have made a purchase during the campaign period are automatically entered into a daily lucky draw to win 11 prizes which include five Grand Prizes and six Secondary Prizes. The Grand Prize consist of a 3 Days 2 Nights stay for two adults at either one of these hotels - Sabah Oriental Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Hotel Grandis in Kota Kinabalu, Sunway Hotel Georgetown in Penang, Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya in Penang and Hallmark Crown Hotel in Melaka together with a RM777 voucher for flight bookings on Shopee. Another six lucky winners will score themselves Secondary prizes - RM777 voucher for flight bookings on Shopee.

Meanwhile, users can get even more amazing discounts and deals on current activities and attractions across Malaysia, with tickets on offer under Shopee’s “Event Tickets” feature.  This includes attractions such as the Awana Skyway in Genting Highlands, the Bayou Lagoon Water Park in Melaka, and Legoland Malaysia in Johor.
