guardian Malaysia Retains Health & Beauty Retailer of the Year Title

guardian Malaysia, earlier this month, won the Health & Beauty Retailer of the Year – Malaysia at the Retail Asia Awards 2026 in Singapore. This back-to-back victory, the second one for this Malaysia-born retailer after its first win at last year’s Retail Asia Awards, has now cemented guardian’s position as Malaysia’s No. 1 Health & Beauty Retailer*.

Speaking right after the awards ceremony at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, Priscilla Wu, Managing Director of guardian Malaysia and Brunei said,

“Having started out as a 200-sqft health and beauty retailer right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 59 years ago, we are glad to have run such a good race to become the top health and beauty retailer two years in a row. We strive to remain at our best to serve the wellness needs of Malaysians nationwide, annually.”

Other Awards besides the Top Retailer win

Besides picking up the most prestigious award in health and beauty retailing for the night, guardian Malaysia also won three other significant awards from the Retail Asia Awards of 2026: Digital Initiative of the Year – Malaysia, Loyalty Programme of the Year – Malaysia and Brand Transformation of the Year – Malaysia.

The Digital Initiative of the Year – Malaysia award was given out to guardian Malaysia in recognition of its informative and educational hubs online to guide its shoppers through the mass of product choices, efficacy & benefit claims, ingredient jargon and conflicting advice when it comes to choosing which health and beauty products is best for them.

“We launched the Health Hub, Hairducation Hub and Derma Lab as part of our shopper-first digital transformation. There are content customisation, online-to-offline interactions as well as expert video advice so our shoppers stay well informed,” added Priscilla.

MYguardian Rewards, which has recently registered over 6 million members, won the Loyalty Programme of the Year – Malaysia award thanks to its AI-powered customer-intelligence engine and lifestyle partners’ platform. The Brand Transformation of the Year – Malaysia award was presented to guardian in recognition of the assured quality and user-approved mannings guardian’s own brand product families.

InfluentialBrands’ Top Health & Beauty Retailer Award – as voted by Malaysians

Last month (May 2026), guardian Malaysia picked up the Top Health & Beauty Retailer in Malaysia for 2025 and 2026 that was given out by the Singapore-based InfluentialBrands.

“We are honoured to have been chosen by shoppers all over the country as the Top Health & Beauty Retailer in Malaysia. Thank you for voting us Malaysia’s No. 1!” said Priscilla.

This recognition serves as a good motivation for guardian Malaysia to continue to serve its shoppers even better – from curating an unrivalled variety of the best and most preferred of pharmaceutical, health and beauty products to dishing out expert advice to its shoppers.

“With the wins of the No. 1 Health and Beauty Retailer awards from both Retail Asia Awards and InfluentialBrands followed by the awards on digital transformation, loyalty programme’s superiority and brand transformation, we are determined to continue being the Trusted Advisor for Wellness for all 34 million Malaysians now and in the years to come!” concluded Priscilla.

HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series Redefines Modern Wearable Technology

Huawei is sparking a new era of connected living with the introduction of three new wearables in Malaysia under its “Now Is Your Spark” launch. Leading the line-up is the all-new HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series, a stylish evolution of Huawei’s signature square smartwatch that combines refined craftsmanship, vibrant new colourways, and intelligent wellness features.

Expanding Huawei’s growing ecosystem of fashion-forward smart devices are the HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition and the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 in Berry Purple, each thoughtfully designed to bring together style, innovation, and seamless everyday functionality for modern Malaysians.

The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series delivers a significantly upgraded visual and design experience. The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 features a vibrant 1.82-inch display, while the Pro edition expands to a larger 1.92-inch screen with ultra-slim bezels and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits for enhanced outdoor visibility. Crafted with premium materials, the Pro edition combines aerospace-grade titanium alloy bezels with durable 2.5D sapphire glass, while the White edition further elevates the design with Aerospace-Grade Nanoceramic Metal technology.

Developed through an advanced anodizing process, this technology generates micro-arc discharges on aluminum alloy in an electrolytic environment, forming a high-hardness ceramic-like coating. Complementing the sleek profile are vibrant colourways and lightweight straps designed for all-day comfort, including a Silver edition strap on the WATCH FIT 5 made from nearly 100% recycled nylon with antibacterial and water-repellent properties.

Beyond aesthetics, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro expands Huawei’s approach to smarter personal wellness through advanced preventive health management features. Leading the innovation is Malaysia’s First Diabetes Risk Study on a wearable smartwatch, designed to support earlier awareness of potential health risks through non-invasive PPG-based vascular signal analysis that evaluates potential diabetes risk patterns over time.

The Pro edition further enhances cardiovascular health management with CE and MDA-certified ECG and Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis, and arterial stiffness detection, empowering users with deeper insights into their overall well-being and vascular health trends. The series also supports TruSleep 5.0 sleep monitoring, HRV analysis, emotional well-being tracking, and women’s health management features, reflecting Huawei’s growing focus on more holistic health experiences.

For users seeking more advanced fitness experiences, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series introduces dedicated racket sports experiences through Goodshot for badminton, PickleX for pickleball, and Tennix for tennis, delivering professional-level insights and performance tracking for everyday players and sports enthusiasts alike. Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro further expands its advanced outdoor sports capabilities with features tailored for trail running, golf, freediving up to 40m, and other performance-focused activities. From route navigation and real-time cycling metrics to golf course maps supporting over 17,000 global courses, the smartwatch adapts seamlessly from urban routines to outdoor adventures while remaining lightweight enough for all-day wear.

Further reinforcing Huawei’s growing commitment towards supporting Malaysia’s sports ecosystem, Huawei Malaysia also partnered with Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) to celebrate and reward the nation’s elite athletes through major sporting recognition platforms, including the prestigious Anugerah Sukan Negara (ASN). Organised annually by the National Sports Council of Malaysia under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the award ceremony honours outstanding achievements across the Malaysian sports industry, with Huawei contributing flagship products to selected winners in recognition of their dedication and accomplishments.

Supporting healthier movement habits throughout the day, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series also introduces Huawei’s new mini-workout experience, with over 30 movements targeting 10 body parts designed to help users incorporate short, guided exercises into their everyday routines. Accompanied by Huawei’s signature panda companion, the interactive feature delivers playful prompts and motivational feedback throughout the day, transforming movement into a more engaging and approachable part of daily life.

Designed for seamless everyday convenience, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series supports compatibility across both iOS and Android devices, allowing users to stay connected regardless of smartphone ecosystem. The smartwatch also supports up to 10 days of battery life, 64GB storage capacity, Touch ‘n Go QR payment support, and intelligent lifestyle features designed to simplify everyday routines.

Price starting from RM799 (RRP), the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series is now available for pre-order with early bird discount voucher of up to RM150 via all HUAWEI Experience Stores, the HUAWEI Official Website, HUAWEI Official Store on Shopee, HUAWEI Flagship Store on Lazada, and the HUAWEI Official Store on TikTok

Following the introduction of the HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Royal Gold Edition, Huawei now expands its luxury wearable portfolio with the new HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition, a sophisticated expression of wearable artistry created in collaboration with internationally renowned jewellery designer Francesca Amfitheatrof.

Inspired by the beauty and renewal of spring, the timepiece features 99 natural diamonds, elegant Fibonacci-inspired curves, and diamond-cut sapphire glass that captures light from every angle.
