Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is definitely Bali’s most iconic landmark. This beautiful temple is built on top of a huge rock and is surrounded by the crystal clear sea with waves crashing constantly on to its base. Being Bali’s most important sea temples, Tanah Lot pays homage to the guardian of the spirits of the sea. Other than that, the temple also offers one of the most picturesque sunsets that will surely take your breath away.

Besakih Temple

Also known as the ‘Mother Temple”, Besakih Temple is perched on the slopes of Mount Agung, at a lofty 1000m above ground. Being the largest of all the Balinese temples, Bekasih has eighteen separate sanctuaries that belongs to different caste groups that surround the three main temples dedicated to Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu.  Pura Penataran Agung in the center has white banners for Shiva, the destroyer, Pura Kiduling Kreteg on the right side with red banners is for Brahma, the creator and Pura Batu Madeg represents Vishnu, the preserver with its black banners. Bekasih Temple is also surrounded by the most scenic paddy fields, hills, mountains and streams.

Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Tegallalang Rice Terraces is famous for its beautiful scenes of rice paddies that involves the subak (traditional balinese cooperative irrigation system). According to history, the subak was passed down by a revered holy man named Rsi Markandeya in the eight century. Tegallalang forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud’s shared region, with the others being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan. The Tegallalang rice terraces alone offers a scenic outlook that spreads down before you and across the rice paddies on the slopes across the valley.

Goa Gajah

Goa Gajah also known as the Elephant Cave is an archaeological site that houses significant historical elements that makes it a special place to visit in Bali. It is located on the cool western edge of Bedulu Village, six kilometers out of central Ubud where you would not need even an hour to go down to their relic-filled courtyard to view the rock-wall carvings, a central carving, a central meditational cave, bathing pools and beautiful fountains.

Kintamani and Mount Batur

If you want to visit a Bali volcano and make it your sightseeing highlight, you should totally make your way to the Kintamani volcano or Mount Batur which is one of the most popular trek in Bali. The captivating Mount Batur surrounds the 13km Batur Caldera Lake. Those who are looking for an adventure can totally take the winding road down to the lake shore that leads you to Toya Bungkah, Ulun Danu Batur temple and a collection of hot springs.

"Buka Puasa, Buka Rasa" With Dato' Fazley And Chatime!

Chef and celebrity, Dato’ Fazley Yaakob, 40, was appointed as the face of the Ramadan campaign of Malaysia’s famous international bubble tea chain, Chatime, at a launch ceremony held at SukaSucre Bistro.

Featuring the theme of "Buka Puasa, Buka Rasa" (Break Your Fast, Break Out The Flavours), Fazley inspired the brand to bring forward two special edition beverages; Bandung Sago Pearl Milk Tea and Cendol Sago Milk Tea to fulfil the diversity of demands for both loyal and new customers of Chatime during this holy Ramadan.

According to Fazley, he was deeply touched and proud when given the opportunity to collaborate with Chatime, which is, coincidentally, his favourite drink brand. 

"When offered this opportunity, I'm excited because I knew exactly what I wanted to bring to the table in terms of Ramadan menu for the Chatime brand," he said when met after the event.

Also present was the Group Managing Director of Chatime Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. owned by Will Group, Aliza Ali and Executive Director, Widayu Latiff.

At the launch event, Fazley also conducted a demonstration of the two drinks that made the sago ingredient a focus while assisted by Aliza and Widayu.

Aliza told, Fazley’s experience and passion in creating new recipes in culinary is the reason Chatime decided to have him as the face of Ramadan this year. It is in line with the brand’s mission in offering variety of choices to its customers. 

“Dato’ Fazley is not just this year’s face of Ramadan for Chatime, he was the mastermind behind the tweaking of the recipes of our Ramadan drinks series”.

Bandung Sago Pearl Milk Tea (with optional vanilla cream) and Cendol Sago Milk Tea is sold for RM8.90 each.

These two specialties are available throughout the Chatime branch in Malaysia beginning one week before Ramadan and ending the first week of Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.

My Neighbourhood Favourite Ramadan Buffet At Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur!

Ramadan is the great time for gathering! Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur, diners will tuck into a scrumptious feast featuring all-time favourites such as Ikan Bakar Daun Pisang, Ketam Masak Lemak, Udang Masak Sambal Petai, Daging Masak Hitam… just to name a few! Not to be missed is the carving station featuring the mouth-watering Roasted Lamb and Nasi Biryani with Vegetable Curry and Acar Timun.

Mouse mommy loves the BBQ fish with banana leaves, the fish was marinated and BBQ it with banana leave. That is the actual Kampung Style of BBQ fish that I love!

The Udang Masak Sambal Petai was generous in portion and the Chef was nicely blend the taste between prawn and petai. That is my mom’s favourite dish!

Another Malaysian all day favourite is Satay! Satay beef and chicken with thick gravy peanut sauce, fresh onions and cucumber. Must eat!

Variety of Kampung kuih-muih and desserts available including ice-cream potong, ABC ice, jelly and so on.
