Best Western i-City Shah Alam | Happy Staycation With Family!

This school holidays, mouse mommy and family have a staycation at Best Western i-City Shah Alam. 

It is a modern business hotel that is set to become the preferred choice for both local and international travelers. Strategically located in Shah Alam – a key satellite city offering fast links to Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia’s main international airport, this contemporary 18-story hotel features 214 modern, comfortable guest rooms and suites, all connected with free Wi-Fi.

We check-in at 12 noon and head to our room. We love to stay in this hotel because it is a family-welcome hotel! Do you know that Best Western i-City Shah Alam has connecting room that allow my parents just stay right beside us!

Once we step in our room, we spotted a welcome gift from the hotel general manager, Anthony Kong that is a pair of handcraft handkerchief bears with a welcome note. That’s lovely!

Two spacious hotel rooms that connecting to each and others. Clean and soft hotel mattresses provided. All the bathroom amenities provided including toothbrush, shampoo, bath gel, towels, soap, comb and shower cap. Hair dryer and makeup mirror also provided. Mouse mommy likes it as in easy for us to dry up our hair by hair dryer; the makeup mirror got 2 sides that is normal mirror and magnifying mirror, easy for mouse mommy to apply cosmetics and make up! Love it!

Best Western i-City Shah Alam is located within the modern i-City complex, which also includes an indoor-outdoor theme park and accessible from three major expressways, Best Western i-City Shah Alam offers the ultimate in convenience and connectivity for all types of traveler, as the slogan itself goes by as “Stay, Work, Play”.

We are heading to The View Café to try the hotel’s latest creation – Go Beyond Signature Menu. Main Course sees a few new categories, each unique in its own way;

‘To The West’, brings you wholesome dishes like Oven Roasted Herb Crusted Salmon; The Burger, Seared Rib Eye Steak, Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio and many more.

‘Our Way’ features local delicacies like View Café Fried Rice, Seafood Horfun, Mee Mamak,

‘Rice in Bento’, sees all rice dishes like Tomato Rice, Briyani, Chicken rice served in a bento set.

‘Meat Me Not’ is a definite hit among vege lovers, boasting dishes like Avocado and Tomato Toast, The View Salad and many more vegetarian goodness.

Mouse mommy loves the ‘Salmon Noodles’, which is vermicelli served in special salmon broth with salmon head, bean sprouts and sambal belacan. Generous portion of the Salmon head with tasty salmon broth make it a satisfied meal! Must eat!

Tuna Miso is one of the grandmother’s favourite dish. It served with seared miso marinated tuna, plaintain chip with homemade chilli sauce. More photos can click here to view.

Coffee Lamb is a Must Eat dish too! Favor grilled lamb that served with cassava mashed, local vegetables and coffee sauce. Large portion of grilled lamb that dip with coffee sauce, unique and yummy!

As for beverages, we have ordered BW Refresher, Lime Ginger Nojito, Sushy Mania and Go Green. BW Refresher is a drink that well blends of banana, orange and granola bits, taste like smoothie and full. Lime Ginger Nojito contains of sliced ginger, lime, mint leaves and sugar syrup. 

Sushy Mania is a mixture of fresh watermelon cubes, lime juice and sugar syrup, feeling refreshing! Go Green is mouse mommy’s favourite detox beverages with cucumber, carrot, green apple and celery.

The morning and night view of the Best Western i-City Shah Alam is beautiful! The night view is magnificent, just like “The City of Lights”! So colourful and fantastic! We can see the night view of i-City and fun fair.  

We love to stay at this hotel due to the hotel’s hospitality, the staffs are welcoming guests and children. MR and MH especially love the “Childhood Tidbits Corner”! So thoughtful of the hotel that prepare some childhood memories biscuits and sweets for the hotel guests. We can just grab and have it!

At the hotel lobby, there is a brand new look with a Betta fish corner displayed for guests to rent and bring up to their room as a companion. Not only the lobby has an advanced look, The View Cafe and Alfresco was given a fresh new image too!

The Alfresco area is nice and spacious as outdoor dining area. Suitable for family and friends dining and gathering together. Colourful beige colour design gives us a warm, pleasant and relaxing feeling!

Many instagrammable spots for nice photography! Mouse mommy loves photography so much! 

Of course, snap many memorable lovely family photos… hahaah! Want to print out with UnoMomenty as photo album to show grandparents and kids too!  

Besides that, Best Western i-City Shah Alam is offering FREE unlimited access to WaterWorld i-City for 2 adults per room. 

Just book a room at Best Western i-City Shah Alam and guests automatically get complimentary access to the water park; they can splash as many times as they like throughout their stay.  

All they need to do is present their room key card docket at WaterWorld entrance and 2 complimentary passes for 2 adults will be granted per room. This is a great deal!

WaterWorld is i-City's water park is located only a 3-minute walk away from the hotel. Featuring a large variety of water rides, WaterWorld offers hours of aquatic fun for the whole family. 

Mouse mommy and family are walking to the water themepark and show the i-City Mobile app for entrance check-in will do. Fast and easy entrance! Unlimited entrance to the water themepark.

The i-City WaterWorld operational hours is,

Monday to Friday : 11am - 6pm

Saturday and Sunday : 10am - 6pm

Last Entry to WaterWorld is at 5pm, WaterWorld is closed every Tuesday except for on public holidays and during school holidays.

Many rides available in the WaterWorld including the Giant Jacuzzi, Spiral and Rainbow Slides, Aladdin Adventure Pool for children, River Adventure through LED-lit grottoes and a Wave Pool with a giant LED screen. 

Their signature attraction is the Tornado Ride. The first in South East Asia, it is the ultimate ride for a boost of adrenaline. Ops! Mouse mommy do not dare to play this Tornado Ride, so adventurous!!!

There are a huge children pool with multiple slides, beach side with a.k.a ocean waves, airplane slide and bubbles jacuzzi that suitable for young kids. More photos can click here to view.

MR and MH really enjoying the water splashing fun! Keep on playing the hippo slides! And ask mouse mommy to join the water slide fun too! My sweet boys!

After water splashing fun, we are heading back to hotel to take bath and rest. Extremely tired till MH sleeps directly right after shower. 

We are feeling grateful that Best Western i-City Shah Alam provide food and beverages online app order facility, not required to walk out for food hunt. Grandparents and kids also tired and sleepy after water splashing fun.

To elevate guests’ experience, the hotel has implemented a new ordering system where guests can order our meals, be it room service or dine-in, through a QR Code. 

Just scan the QR available in our room or at the table in The View Café, select our preferred dish and beverage, and order away! Meals will be delivered straight to our room or to our table. 

There is also an introductory promo where guests who order their meals through the QR code will enjoy exclusive discounts; 20% off for room service and 10% off for dine-in at The View Café.  

There are a wide selection of food and beverage options in the i-City Mobile app, including an all-day dining restaurant, 24-hour room service and a cafe with outdoor seating, allows guest to sample a selection of delectable Asian and international flavors.

Mouse mommy was ordered Wild Mushroom Soup, Grilled Chicken Chop, Deep Fried Chicken Wing, Seafood Hor Fun, Oreo Cheese Cake, Cappucino and Milo via the i-City Mobile app.

The kitchen staffs were cooked for us and send directly to our room. Thank you!

The Wild Mushroom Soup is served with garlic bread. Creamy and full of mushroom taste! Recommended.

The marinated Deep Fried Chicken Wings is tasty to dip with honey mustard. Seafood Hor Fun is wok-fried rice noodles with prawns, squid, bok choy, ginger, eggs and seafood. Big portion with well-cooked by the Chef! MR finished the whole plate by himself. Haha! Mouse mommy was managed to try 2 spoonful and it is really well-cooked! Recommended.

We are enjoying our dining moments in the hotel room, especially we parents bring along young kids. It will be very helpful. More photos can click here to view.

A sweet night stay at Best Western i-City Shah Alam hotel!

The next day, we are having breakfast and Hi-Tea at The View Café. 

Variety of choices available such as appetizer cheese, salad, bread, pastry, fried banana. Main menu dishes such as fried rice, fried mee, roti jala, chicken rice, sautéed mushroom, steam corns, miso soup, porridge, chicken rice, egg omelet, half boiled eggs, mee soup and so on. 

Dessert is also serving with cheesecake, green bean soup, ice cream, chocolate fondue with marshmallow, strawberry and fruits.   

The Best Western i-City Shah Alam also have New Year's Eve Buffet offer too! 

Mouse mommy and family love the food and beverages served in Best Western i-City Shah Alam hotel. Delicious and healthy food concepts by the Chefs especially the mushroom dishes. 

First time, mouse mommy eaten Pumpkin cooked with mushroom. Taste nice and healthy! Love it. Thank you for the yummy healthy meals.
